Somaiya is a sour candy

Dislikes

  • The staff at somaiya are still orthodox which includes getting nagged when you are with a female friend
  • The process of obtaining permission from heads for student organised events can be troublesome and difficult

Course Curriculum Overview :

My course is bcom and the reason i took this course is that this course is an umbrella course after graduation you have many options to take further education or work. This curriculum has a wide range of subjects from economics evs maths accounts to communication so it does prepare you for the real world. An area of improvement can be updated teaching methods which makes our brain work because from 8th we are studying and giving exams in the same pattern. The exam happens twice every year.

Internships Opportunities :

Companies like morgan stanley, wipro, microsoft, mercedes, delloite visit somaiya and give placements. Usually the roles offered are from sales, marketing and finance. The stipend 6000-8000 Auditing, financial analysis, consumer behaviour studies

Placement Experience :

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement Name of companies: morgan stanley, wipro, deloitte Highest package is 6 LPA 18% placement I am going to do LLB and give judiciary exam

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees are very minimal, 13000/- per year and the hike is small.Fy it was 8k Sy it was 13.4k and TY it is 14k The complete cost of my education considering tuition fees, books and other expenses is 40000/- There is financial aid for economically weaker sections, and backward tribes There are no specific campus employment that i have heard of in kjsac

Campus Life :

In our college building we have a fest called HOONER in december but there are other fests in the campus aswell nearly 7-8 in months OCT-March The library is highly equipped with books and reading material its 10/10 There is not much technological provisons we just have a projector and a board along with wifi Somaiya is known for its sports outlook. Sports is highly encouraged in somaiya and we have one of the biggest athletic ground There are many student run clubs and groups like utkarsh, hooner, nss, symphony, aura

Admission :

Eligibility for the course in somaiya was based on their merit list which started of from 92% which later dropped to near 55% All the forms, fees and dates are provided in somaiya's own website. The website is user friendly aswell but it has a lot of bugs Highest reservation given in somaiya is for gujrati students. The exams are quite easy because you just have to prepare from question paper from last 4 years and you pass with flying colours The admisson process is very slow, the staff is not very responsive, only one window for thousand students,

Faculty :

The low faculty to student ratio greatly improves the learning experience by allowing more indivisualzed attention and smaller class sizes the faculty member are highly qualified with advanced degree and significant experience in their fields. They are highlty approachable and mentor students aswell
