Dislikes

  • Th most disliked thing that the college management introduced uniforms which had a negative impact between the students that they used wear casual and formal dresses and suddenly to uniform felt like they were being rejected of their freedom
  • The physical education department was not good as they didn't support the way in which the college supported the sports as the head of the department was better but the physical director doesn't know anything about sports and simply judges everyone

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course I took was Bachelor's in ECONOMICS which is one of the best courses a student can prefer for their degree as it provides better job opportunities with higher level of studies. It offers subjects like politics, history, mathematics included in the academics which benefits the students for their higher studies and to apply for a job. The faculty does a great job by guiding us and allowing us to make our studies easier than we think. They help us in every situation where we feel a gap. Exams are held like semester which six semester all in total where there was three exams in a semester which included a internal exam and a model exam for our internal marks and a semester end exam for 80 marks which averaged to the internal marks into 100 which gave our semester results

Internships Opportunities :

The college provides the best internship opportunities to the students through their departments in both government and private sector where they could earn 1000-5000 while pursuing their degree or masters and there are a lot of opportunities provided to the students by the college

Placement Experience :

There are a lot placements taken place in the college and we will be asked to register for placements if interested during our 2nd year of the program. And if we register we will be given the best classes for attending placements. There are classes on placements drives which provides best classes on aptitude test and interview skills. There are also mock interviews taken place in the college to help us perform better in the placement drives. There are several companies and banks which comes to select students for their institutions as TCS, EY, ALLIANZ, THE TIMES and banks like federal bank, HDFC bank, SBI

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yeah. As my course was aided in the merit seat I was asked to pay 9000 rupees in the time of admission as admission fees which included caution deposit also. And there are fees in odd semesters like we have to pay fees in semester 3 an amount of 4500 rupees and in semester 5 an amount of 5000 rupees and we had to pay exam fees in of rupees 750 in every semester which provided us the hall ticket ticket for attending the exams. Overall i had to spend only less than 30000 rupees to study for the 3 year program which included everything.

Campus Life :

The college provides best annual celebrations for the students which includes UNION DAY and COLLEGE DAY which are the major celebrations of the college and it celebrates all the traditional festivals of INDIA especially ONAM and CHRISTMAS as it mostly celebrated in KERALA. There are also all India level science exhibition which takes place for a week with different types of programs and exhibits. The library of the college is mutli storeyed building which is fully air conditionied for the students can easily access and a lot of variety of books are available. There are sports days and meets conducted in the college as sports is considered important for everyone by the college management and the college also has the number one basketball team in the state and it is top 5 in south india and there are also sports and games meet between department and there are also friendly matches between students and faculty. There are student run UNION which are selected through election and NSS

Hostel Facilities :

As I was alloted through sports quota I was facilitated to sports hostel which is one of the hostels provided by the college with everything free like stay and food for the whole program of three years. There are also other hostel inside the college itself managed by the college management itself which is paid and the monthly fee for the mess or food is 4500 per month and 1700 for 3 months of stay in the hostel. The food provided by the hostel mess is one of the best available or could get for an amount of 4500 per month. Menu inlcudes breakfast lunch tea and dinner and it provides hot drinking water and extra food can be taken according to our wish. The facility of the room include 2-3 person in a room with 2 fans and 3 beds with storage spaces

Admission :

The eligibility of the course was to have a higher secondary pass certificate with a maximum marks above 80% to be alloted in merit seats which give us fair amount of fees to paid for our academics. I also had the priority of sports quota which gave me direct admission to the course even though I had applied for allotment. There are different type of seats in admission process as merit seats which is based upon marks. Sports seats according to your sports performance and certificates and it is only available if you have participated in the state or national championship. There are management as well as community quota also.

Faculty :

I studied in the ECONOMICS department which is one of the best departments to be pursue your degree in ST BERCHMANS as the professors act as your absolute mentors in everything they guide us in every way possible to achieve out maximum in studies as well as other activities included in the academy. They also supports us in engaging us in different programe which can improve our skills. There is also fest in the department which has helped students to improve their management skills and program coordinating or conducting skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I strictly does not in believe in studying political science and history while doing a degree course of Economics subject because they are completely different. I had political science and history until 2 years in 4 semesters in total. I prefer to give mathematics for us as it would have been easy for us now, when we have much bigger questions to solve.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was BA Communicative English which was a 3 years course it was really knowledgeable and good, teachers were perfectly professional and had full knowledge on the subjects. It was a self financed program so the fees is little higher compared to other courses. We have two internships in 3 years one is for teaching and other is for journalism mass communication and all were good and effective. The college also provides placement where we'll known companies come and provide placement for the students. It is also assist we'll. Overall a very good college with a family environment and good staffs
