Course Curriculum Overview :
I have choosed BCOM as my undergraduate course since I am a commerce student . This undergraduate course of Bachlor of Commerce ( BCOM ) gives an overall view of the various aspects of the commerce field. It shows what are the main subjects the students have to mainly deal with to have an excellent understanding of this course as well as the commerce stream .
Internships Opportunities :
Gauhati Commerce College provides a good number of internship opportunities for its students . The college faculty focuses on developing and preparing the students for their career development and progress. Some of the companies which have provided internship opportunities to the GCC students are - Acmegrade, Federal Bank , Tata Consultancy Services ( TCS ) , Tata Strive etc.
Placement Experience :
Gauhati Commerce College provides a good internship and placement opportunities for the students.During the 5th and 6th semester , a good number of companies approach the college for fresh graduates. Students have to attend internship classes of the companies and give online interviews to get access for the placements and jobs. Some of the companies which have approached the college are - Federal Bank , Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) , Acmegrade Classes , Tata Strive etc .
Fees and Financial Aid :
Gauhati Commerce College provides the BCOM course in a well - to - do finacial way . The course package is around Rs 15000-16000 approx . The college also charges less fee or provides financial aid for BPL / not well to do students . Scholarship programs are also conducted in the college by the various state and central government agencies so that students can avail them for their future academic purposes.
Campus Life :
The 3 years college life was enjoyable . There were numerous activities and provisions . If I face problems and queries related to my studies , the teachers always helped me in solving my doubts. I also got the practical knowledge of my studies through various assignments and projects assigned by the teachers. Also on the other hand , various entertainment programs and activities were also held so that the students can participate in them as well as enjoy the college life.
Admission :
To persue undergraduation in GCC , one has to secure atleast above 85% in their Class 12 boards ( CBSE / AHSEC / Other Boards ).Counting of the percentage will be done in best of five basis. No entrance exam is conducted for undergraduation . The addmission process in Gauhati Commerce College is conducted in an online mode. Interested students will have to fill up the form by visiting the college website after declaration of their 12th results . They have give all the required documents and information for their addmission . After the form fill students have to wait for the arrival of the merit lists . Merit lists will have caste reservations also . After finding the name in the merit list, students have to take the addmission by visiting the college website . The student must strictly take the addmisson during the given time since he/she may loose his seat if not taken addmission on time , after which 2nd merit list will be out and other students will take the place.
Faculty :
The college faculty was very discipline and sinceare towards all the students . They provided required notes and information related to the study materials of the students which gave an easy understanding of the course . It facilitated online programs to improve the academic growth of the students .
