  • Being a medical college, there is a decoram that needs to be maintained.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Doctors are respected and valued so much in this world, they are considered gods to their patients. This is the thing which motivated me to choose this career option. Also it would be unfair if I say I choosed this career for money making as well, I mean who doesn't dreams of a good life. The curriculum prepares a student well enough to manage the real life problems. The students deal with real life patients under the guidance of the faculty which is good for medical growth. The one and only suggestion is that the workload needs to be decreased, it makes the life hectic for no reason. Everyday we have exams, practicals etc, which makes it tough to manage the medical with social life. Exams are taken quite frequently and it is really tough to even get passing marks in exams which again makes medical life really hectic and depressing.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship is provided in the hospital itself for one year with a stiphens of about 17000 per month. The internship is really hectic as students get no medical leave and no holidays. The students in the internships are preapered for the worst. Research facility is available in the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Being a medical college the Tyrion fees is quite affordable, it's about 90000-100000per year. But being a government college, I would say that the Tutiin fees is quite high. The complete cost of my 4 and a half year course is about 5 lakh including all the essential charges. No scholarships are available for students. Medical sector needs pure practical knowledge. If a person is quite knowledgable it is really easy to get a job once MBBS is over.

Campus Life :

The annual fest of KCGMC is Endorphin which is a 3 days event. Also founders day is also celebrated in our college. Library is well furnished with every kind of books a medical student needs for study or research works. The technical aspects of college are in a good level. The lecture theatres are well equipped with projectors and air conditioners. Outdoor sports are now available in our College due to lack of space in the campus which is a disadvantage. The college has a number of clubs and groups which are not kind of really in a working condition due to the amount of workload on the medical students.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facilities are quite amazing. Two seated rooms are available with attached washrooms which is the biggest advantage of heaters. Every room has 2 tube lights , a fan, two chairs and two tables. Mess is handled by students itself so the food is really good compared to other college messes.

Admission :

Being one from the general category it is quite tough to cover the cutoff of the NEET exam. I got 625 marks with a rank of about 10000. There are only about 1 lakh government seats including all the medical courses. Getting admission in a private medical college for a middle class student is not aya all possible. Admission in government medical college can be taken by applying for the NEET exam conducted every year in ye month of may-june. Reservations are available for some categories which is unfair but the system works like this. The difficulty level of the NEEt exam sis decreasing day by day which is even worse because the cut off in increasing to another level which makes it even difficult to get a government medical seat. The reservation needs to be removed completely and the exam pattern should be set on a certain level.

Faculty :

Since medicine is one of the most important sectors in day to day life, the admissions are taken through a competitive exam. So all the faculty at KCGMC is well educated and highly qualified. But due to the hospital pressure sometimes the professors don't get enough time to teach and hence have to skip classes.

The decision to serve humanity influenced me to join this course. This course is considered most prestigious course, but still the doctors are paid less compared to other professions. The teaching method should be improved, teacher should interact with students with calmness.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty is good but if we talk about teaching methods as we all know that in medical College you have to study on your own. some professors only come to read slides. The main exam will be held in the last of the year on its basis you will be promoted in the 2nd year, but tests are held on alternate weeks approx.

Placement Experience:

There are 100 students per batch, and it's a 5-year course, including a one-year internship. During the internship, we will be offered with a stipend around Rs. 20,000 per month. But there is a bond that you have to work for 3 years after the course, and you can break the bond by paying a specific amount.
