- I really liked the atmosphere of this college. It has a mixed group of people from all over the country which exposed you to a lot of different cultures as well.
- The range of extra curricular activities and competitions provided here really gives various ideas and opportunities to students.
Dislikes
- 75% attendance criteria is not budged even in medical cases often.
- Extreme climatic conditions often hinder our studies. As both the weathers are always at their extreme here.
Course Curriculum Overview :
All the material is relevant to our course and provides us with the best of information and knowledge on our subjects. The course curriculum is perfect and doesn't require any changes according to me. It goes at a smooth pace so as to not create any confusion at any stage of the semester.
Internships Opportunities :
There are plenty of Internships available for students, even for 1st and 2nd year students, albeit they are by Thapar only. Companies pay a good amount of stipend to students for internships at their companies.
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for placements in their last semester of college. In my course the average package is about 14 lacs, and the highest is 40 lacs. Companies that visit are Wipro, Aakash, HMEL etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are plenty of scholarships available for under privileged and female students. These schemes really help them out. The complete tuition fees of my course is 25 lacs. Campus placements are available to almost all students and promise 100% placements to everyone who sits for them. Placements from best of the companies are available here for students.
Campus Life :
Campus life is definitely one of the best parts of Thapar. It is so vibrant and energising with a bunch of societies, clubs, hackathons, cycle rallies. There's something for everyone here. They add to the overall college experience.
Hostel Facilities :
Facilities provided in the room are- mattress, AC, almirah, one table and chair, and sometimes a show rack. Hostels are slightly pricy as their quality gets better. But it's worh it as you have to spend a lot of your time in the hostel room itself.
Admission :
The admission process was pretty simple. In my course student's 12th Boards result is supposed to be above 75% to be eligible. In case of reservation students are supposed to have above 65% marks. No entrance tests are required. The standard test results are considered.
Faculty :
Due to some issues this year our department was overlooked in terms of academics so there have been some issues. But the faculty has always come through and provided us with the best of material and knowledge. Faculty to student ratio is about 80:1.
