- I really liked the peer group, very diverse and into different kinds of things like some are into coding, some wants to become an IAS officer , few into sports etc.
- The faculty are well equipped with knowledge and experience. Most of them are PhD degree holders.
Dislikes
- Connectivity is slightly an issue here. Though there are trains connected to various parts but it gets late by almost 12 hours sometimes it is quite frustrating.
- Few of the labs could be properly equipped.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is very well aligned to the industry. In electrical engineering, we have core subjects of electrical engineering lik circuit theory, network analysis and etc. But we do have other elective subject like ai , ml , and other high on demand field from industry. We have some of the guest lecturers coming from the industry to deliver lectures on the various technologies actually used in the industry with many industrial visit and tours, hands on practical and learning experience.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are also provided here in NIT AGARTALA. You can either crack an On- campus internship or you could also apply for an off- campus internship. In On campus, your CGPA , DSA skills and project plays a great role while in off campus there is no that much use of CGPA. Same companies visit for internship as those mentioned earlier in the placement section. The stipend depends on the company, your profile and performance, and various other factors but for an estimate you can fetch from 5k to 1lakh of stipend.
Placement Experience :
The placement season starts when a student enter 4th year , i.e. from the starting of the 7th semester companies starting visiting campus conducting placement drives. Few of the companies include Deloitte, AWS, Amazon, Capgemini, Bajaj Motors, Tata motors, Google, Microsoft, Siemens, Texas instruments, The highest placement percentage are achieved in the Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, and the Electrical Engineering department i.e upto 94%. The core branches like civil , mechanical, chemical have a placement percentage of upto85% Lower branches like production and biotechnology have only 80% placement. The highest package was offered by AWS and Amazon of 52 LPA to three students, one from CSE , two being from EE and ECE. Our seniors have also secured very good ranks in competitive exams like CAT and GATE , entered into IITs , IIMs and PSUs. Few cracked the prestigious UPSC and went on to become the IAS, IPS IRS officera. Few went to foreign universities for master
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tution fee is affordable as compared to other institutions, be it government run or maintained by any private organisation. The tuition fees per semester is Rs. 62,500 . But all SC,ST and PWD students have it 100% waiver irrespective of the family income , plus for general, EWS and OBC students those with family income below 1 lakh per annum ,they need to pay zero tuition fees All General, EWS and OBC students having family income between 1 lakh and 5 lakh are required to pay 1/3rd of the 62,500 . i.e.Rs. 20,833 /semester General,EWS and OBC students above 5 lakh family income are required to pay full tuition fees i.e. 62,500/semester. Regarding the scholarship, we have tons of funding opportunities from government like NSP and those granted by the domicile state of the students and private organisation like Reliance Foundation, FFE , Amazon, and many more. There is a very good chance that all students may land a grant, funding or stipend in any form. Loans are easily available.
Campus Life :
We have two fest being organised in a year, the cultural festival MOKSHA and the technical fest AAYAM. Various guests like Ashneer Grover, Yash Garg, Shraddha khapra ,Tanya Rajhans ,Vijender Masijeevi and many more have been invited during the tenure of these fests. Aayam is organised during March and Moksha is organised during February every year. Central library, NIT-A have a diverse collection of books including Fiction, Anime , Core engineering disciples, storybooks etc. There is something for everyone. You get most of the standard books for preparation of various competitive exams like GRE, GATE, GMAT, CAT, XAT, NMAT, UPSC ,RRB etc. Our college has a diverse range of technical and cultural clubs like DCCXGDSC, ANARC, Malhar, Dzire, Anima, Pixels, E-cell, Team Xanthroz , Mech extremo,We can, etc . We can provides primary education tuition to the underprivileged students around the campus of the NiTa .
Hostel Facilities :
The newly constructed Rabindranath Tagore hostel which accomodates the first year boys, third year boys and PHD and Masters boys students is even compared to that of top IITs and NITs. We have the Aryabhatta hostel for the accommodation of second year and fourth year boys student . The Gargi is home to all the girls students of NIT-A , be it bachelor, master, PHD and Research students. Meal is different in mess menu for all seven days. We have been provided with panner for vegetarians and egg ,chicken and fish for non vegetarian. Variety of snacks are provided for girls while only tea and 4 biscuits for boys. Hostel facility are very good and Mess food quality are average. The registration process is fairly simple. We need to log in to the MIS portal of Nit Agartala and pay our fees at the beginning of the semester. Allot a room for one year and mess can be changed once. There are Eastern mess, Western Mess, Northern mess and Southern mess.
Admission :
You have to have minimum 75% aggregate marks in best of 5 five (Physics, Chemistry, Maths and any 2 other subjects) or be in top 20 percentile in the respective board. You have to appear for JEE mains examination and qualify it , the qualification marks differ every year. There are reservation of 27% for OBC, 15% for SC,7% for ST and 10% for General-EWS . There is parallel reservation of 5% for PWD . 20% supernumerary seats are also created for girls to balance the boys: girls ratio in the NIT. You can prepare for the JEE mains for 2 years though online coaching centre like PW, BYJUS,Vedantu , Unacademy or offline centres like Allen, Resonance, Motion. You can prepare in your own city or go to Kota. Jee mains is conducted twice a year , once in January and next in April.
Faculty :
The faculty is no doubt the best of the best. They are PhD Holders from IITs and foreign universities like University of Sheffield and London. One chemistry faculty was a CSIR -NET AIR 1 . They are very well mannered. They teach in a structured way . Computer Science HOD is my favourite . He has a charm and a charisma in his style. Confident and well spoken. The best faculties are found in the electrical department. Very knowledgeable and kind hearted.
