Life at DYPIU, Pune

Dislikes

  • Campus placements are a bit weak here. As the placement cell doesn't have enough people there and not good conmections.
  • Some faculties are really not competent at all. And you'll have to complain so many times to get to the head.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is good. There's so much focus on journalism that they forget about other specializations. I opted for PR and there wasn't much competent people to teach that field to us. Journalism has really good faculty members who have enough experience as well.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are available but they are pretty weak. Usually companies don't visit the college. Think analytics is one of those which recently visited college and 5 students were selected in the company. Average package is between 3-3.5 Lpa

Placement Experience :

After semester 5th, students are eligible for placements and there's a compulsory internship required after the 4th semester in between the break. They provide you with enough opportunities and the faculties are very supportive of all these.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee is very minimal as compared to other colleges and they provide enough facilities in that fee criteria. The scholarships are provided to the class topper every semester. 50% fee waiver is provided the the person who tops the class and also gets a gold medal at graduation. Campus employment opportunities are really weak but keeping good connection with the faculties might help you get good opportunities.

Campus Life :

There's an annual fest called Indus Fiesta which happens every year in January or February. The fest is a very big event where big stars are called as Chief Guests and a lot of activities and competitions are held. There are many student led clubs including Acting club, Dance and music Club, Film and photography club, IT club etc.

Admission :

The eligibility required more than 60% in class 12th. If you have more than 85% then you'll be enrolled directly. If less than that then there's an interview process which is taken by the faculties themselves and it isn't that hard. You just need basic GK knowledge and little street knowledge. The exams are mostly practical so you don't have to stay up all night learning stuff. It's very fun.

Faculty :

The faculties are mostly supportive and good but sometimes they can be a little too much and won't listen to your queries. You'll have to file a complaint many tims to reach the senior faculty. But that's the case of every college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate course curriculum a 8 on 10.. it is because now I am in 3 year...And my course is bachelor's in Multimedia and Mass communication..In which we have specialisation in 3rd year... That means we need to choose between Journalism and Advertising in the last year...so in 1st and 2nd year we eventually come to know that what's our exact interest... people here is very helpful in terms of guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is industry integrated and mostly their is practical knowledge in this field bus this is also related to media and I was already interested in the same so choose this course. The curriculum does give you all the knowledge that you need and it does help you in shaping your future. Their are some area of improvement as they teach history of every thing personally I don't think learning the history of every thing is necessary and it can be skipped. Exam are conducted twice a year along with the assignment the exam are not that difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspects that influenced my decision to choose this course were hands-on practice, internships, and collaborations within the industry. The curriculum has prepared us well for real-life instances through assignments and other activities. One suggestion for improvement could be that the curriculum be more flexible in terms of online and offline learning both to cater to different students' schedules and internship interests. The difficulty level of our exams is fair and manageable making it good for all.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a second year student in Bhavan's college in the BMM department. During my admissions after 12th , when i looked up for curriculum in Bhavan's a certain subjects like Mobile content creation and photography lured me as they are easily applicable in practical work plus they are in demand in todays media field. The current curriculum is 85% theoretical according to me as only one subject that is theatre studies is practical. Hence the application of current syllabus in real life is questionable. However , it can be useful if one opts for Post graduation. The area where the curriculum needs to improve is to add more practical knowledge and teaching methods should be more interactive. In context of frequency of exams, only 2 end sem exams plus internal exams for 2 credit subjects are conducted. The difficulty level can be rated as mediocre.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course has changed a lot from last year due to the NEP guidelines. The new curriculum provides cross-faculty minor courses through which we learn about not only our course but a completely different one too. It is a very new model of timetable and we are the experiment batch. Some suggestions I would give are to provide minors which are related to our subject so that it would be useful to us in future also providing better options in choosing electives. One positive I found is the honours programming which gives us the option to directly take Phd once done with our bachelors. Also the free exit system is also helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to opt for the BMM course because many writers, directors, actors and ad experts and artists have studied in Khalsa College. The curriculum prepares you for real world applications by not only teaching within the portion but also outside the portion. Various recreational activities take place at the college. Areas for improvement would be to decrease the over importance of giving attention to the attendance and project submission. It's college not school the teachers soften a little and try to give students the freedom of exploring other things too. The frequency and timings if the exams are usually the same as ither colleges. There are 6 semesters carried out in three years which are 2 or 3 hours long.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was apt, however, I felt as if some of the subjects or rather the specific topics they delved into were somewhat out of touch for the early 2020s. However, most teachers provided us with question banks, PDF study material, and so on. Exams were timely (one unit test and end-of-term test per semester), and projects were also timely by nature (one individual project and one group project termed as SLE.)

Placement Experience:

Everyone who is studying at UPG is eligible for campus placements. They provide internship and job offers too. The highest package I think was 17 lakhs and the average is around 8 lakhs which is quite good for a fresher. However, many students don't sit for the placements as they go for higher studies.
