Things to know before taking Admission In Thakur college

Dislikes

  • The management and the staff of the college are not good they take their sweet own time to complete any work and you can't get your work done on the firt try and they always make you run from one counter to other counter
  • The visiting faculty sometimes don't take their work seriously and students for granted

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is industry integrated and mostly their is practical knowledge in this field bus this is also related to media and I was already interested in the same so choose this course. The curriculum does give you all the knowledge that you need and it does help you in shaping your future. Their are some area of improvement as they teach history of every thing personally I don't think learning the history of every thing is necessary and it can be skipped. Exam are conducted twice a year along with the assignment the exam are not that difficult

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Thakur college is one of the most expensive college to do BMM as their fees is higher than any other colleges expect Mithibai, the fees is on higher side and its is around 60-70 k per year . Yes the college provide scholarship based on the annual income of the family which should be less than 8 lakh per annum.

Campus Life :

Tarangan is the fest held at college level it is conducted once a year a year end, apart from this their are many fest held at branch level like for BMM a fest named Cortokino takes place same time around Tarangan. The college have a big library with many selection of Books from fashion magazines to books for exam preparation, the college also have many clubs for sports and other things like kick boxing football volleyball and basketball and many other, if you are interested in NCC you you can also join it here

Admission :

The admission process is quite simple their is no specific eligibility rather than 60 percent you can apply from any field, when applying you should first apply on the mumbai university portal and then on the college website portal applying on mumbai university portal is free the college portal does charge you 200 rupes for the same .

Faculty :

The facilities are good and well educated they have what it takes to be a good teacher they have good credentials and their approach to teaching is also amazing they are good mentors and they guide. They will not only guide you in the academic but also slove your personal life problems without any judgement, but the number of faculties are less as the same faculty are teaching us since 1st year some visiting faculty come and go but their are 2-3 teacher that are same .

Placement Experience:

Everyone who is studying at UPG is eligible for campus placements. They provide internship and job offers too. The highest package I think was 17 lakhs and the average is around 8 lakhs which is quite good for a fresher. However, many students don't sit for the placements as they go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The placements offers are shared with the students and they can opt for them according to their interests. The curriculum covers all the practical and theoretical knowledge which helps the students to be ready for the work environment. I am currently working as a Content Creator and I got this job because of my college's placement cell.

As soon as you are about 18 the student becomes eligible for campus placement. Top Companies like Mahindra and Mahindra, Aditya Birla, Teleperformance etc. Do come for placements drive. There is no particular package it completely depends on the student profile. The percentage of students getting hired or getting placed is approx 80%. My plans after getting the degree are to do a mastered course of my particular subject so that after getting 3 degrees I can be placed at a good company.

Remarks:

The atmosphere, the legacy, the faculty and the extra curriculars. I come from generations of xavierietes so I wanted to be a part of the tradition and it was totally worth it. I also heard a lot about the inclusivity on campus and the diversity of the crowd and after being here for a little over 4 years I can say that it lived up to all my expectations and then some.

Remarks:

My experience with my college is extremely satisfying. Every single aspect contributed in this satisfaction including teacher staff, infrastructure, facilities they provide, principals and of course my friends which i met in college. The only thing which can be improved is admission criteria there should be more cut off for it, as they offer really more than education, everything. So competition in students should be increased for admission.
