Likes

The metro station amd bus stand are very very close to the college. The bus stabd is right next to it while the metro station is only a 2 minutes walk away.
The older faculty of my department is excellent. It is very fun being taught by them.
The architecture of the campus is very beautiful.

Dislikes

The administration is very lacking and lazy.
The students and teachers are always under surveillance of the administration.
The college canteen is very unhygienic. My friend found a cockroach in her food. The prices are also very very high.

Course Curriculum Overview

Since mine is the pilot batch for NEP, our while syllabus is different than our seniors. I would say the course is quite relevant but since it is new, even the teachers are nit fully aware of what all to teach us. I'm quite impressed by the practicals that we get to do, since most them have helped me theoretically and even in my internships. It would be better if the course was thoroughly discussed amongst the teachers before putting out. The exams are of medium level of difficulty, they're easily scoreable, however one question is of 20 marks which seems very excessive.

Placement Experience

The college has a placement cell. As far as I know there are placement offers, especially for Economics Hons. and BCom. The average placement in my knowledge is about 7 lpa. Since I am from psychology, most of the placement happens after MA.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since I am of the general category, I pay about 22k per year for my course. Even though it is affordable considering private education fees, it is still very very expensive in comparison to other DU colleges.

Admission

I got admission through CUET. I scored 780/800. As the pilot batch for cuet, we faced alit of problems during the admission process since it was a new system. It was very poorly implemented and we weren't even clear on how we will get admissions and what the cutoffs might be.

Faculty

There was recently a hiring drive in the college where alot of old adhoc teachers were removed and new permanent faculty was hired. In my department (Psychology) the new faculty is utterly disappointing. 70% of the teachers are underqualified for the jobs, most of them do not even have degrees in psychology. They are not at all aware with the course work. Most of them do not even take the classes.

the curriculum is decided by delhi university, economics wing and is followed by all the colleges of du, although few topic are often irrevelent which teachers tend to skip. i do feel that curriculum is pretty old and they should introduce new topic which are more related to reak=l world and give us real life experience not just bookish knowledge which is irelevent. they should also ask for students input related to their curriculum, teachers sometimes tedn to just do book reading. internal exmas are taken frequently and difficulty is 3 out of 5

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a good course. I went for it mainly because I am preparing for UPSC CSE (pretty common around here). In that context the course is helpful, and also for those aiming to enter research, academia, museology, archaeology etc. However there are not many placement opportunities and for most it would be better to pursue masters later on. Teaching methods are inclusive, both english and hindi medium students can comfortably study. However both students and faculties have some complaints regarding the curriculum changes under NEP such as the sequence of courses in each sem.

Placement Experience:

Placements is for 3rd year students. Many good companies visit our campus like bajaj capital, oberoi group. Highest package is around 22 lakhs. We have a lot of internship and placement opportunities come in for students.

Course is rightly designed. Plus the teachers often suggest books that can be read from library regarding course topics. The library is very nice here. I used to study in the library for long hours. Honest review of Pros and Cons of DCAC

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is done in the 3rd year. The highest PPO given is 24,00,000 to auditing and taxation departments. Average package is about ?15,00,000 to ?18,00,000. Companies like Eay, KPMG and more visit our college for placement. Most students under the commerce department get offered internships. Other than this, the placement cell also actively keeps sending internship opportunities for students to enhance their profiles. I am an English honours student l, thus there is no placement option for me directly unless I take up options from the P-Cell. I have already interned at EY India, Gurgaon, as a forensics and risk management specialist( throigh personal referral).My knowledge (attained from DCAC) of research, report and article writing were used adequately.

Generally, after BA no one is placed and even if we apply for a job we don't get a good package. So, students generally go for masters or some other courses through which they can get placements. Talking of college placement and internship cell we don't have very good facilities as very limited companies are there for recruiting students. Many students don't even get the internship. This is a major negative point of college.

Overall college experience at IPCW

I applied through cuet only. Indraprastha College was my second preference after lady shree ram college. The department is one of the bests on Delhi university and I m quite content with the faculty here (except a few teachers). I chose this College because i searched through various websites and specially the psychology department of this college was rated good, so that's why. a good experience

The admission process for this and any other DU college is fairly simple which is to sit for the CUET examination which is an objective based paper and also to make a decent preference list to get into the desired college and course. My decision to choose Indraprastha college for women was because it provided my desired course and my marks aligned with it. I also applied to other DU colleges but am satisfied with my current position as it provides a well-structured academic base and gathers a much more decent crowd than any other DU college.
