MERI college- Is It Worth Getting In?

Dislikes

  • The campus is too small. There’s no good spot to hang out/make memories.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is a mix of mathematics, accountancy and theoretical business studies. It's a more precise and detailed version of what we've studied in 11th and 12th grade. They have also taught us stuff practically.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tution fee is pretty decent coming from a middle class family. For the scholarships, I've never heard my classmates get one. I don't think the college provides scholarships but rather the university does.

Campus Life :

The campus is small. Although there's no issues in regularity of classes but there is little to no campus. The sport activities usually take place off campus since it's not that big. The college hosts events in the auditorium quite often. It's just the sports part lacking behind.

Admission :

The eligibility was based on our CUET scores. I think 70% was the minimum percentage someone had to get to take admission in our college. The difficulty level of the exam was average but since the competition was a lot it got tougher.

Faculty :

The faculty is kind and understanding. They're all well qualified and share knowledge lectures. They understand the students and provide as much help as they can.My experience so far has been pretty great.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As my Course is a professional so the ciriculum is really good and it's based on real life as well however teaching hindi and some extra subjects which don't help us doesn't make sense to me and I believe that more focus should be given on development of communication skills.

Placement Experience:

Maharaja Surajmal Institute is value for money. Placements: Almost everybody in the BBA course were placed. The highest placement in 2024 is Rs. 7,50,000. The average package in 2024 is Rs. 3,50,000. Recruiting companies include Federal Bank, Upgrade, etc. Students who got the internship from Bachelois in Business Administration are less likely to get it, as college doesn't help. Infrastructure: The quality of infrastructure is very poor in Maharaja Surajmal Institute. The library and labs are good but the classrooms don't have ACs. The quality of food available in the canteen is average. Don't join this college if you want to excel in sports. Hostel quality is very poor too. You won't find ACs in rooms. Moreover, there are Indian toilets, which are outdated. Faculty: Few teachers are seriously irritating and focus more on attendance than the quality of their teaching. A BBA course, in my opinion, doesn't make you job-ready but gives a basic outline of the job role and responsibilities

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course cuuriculum is quite interesting as it allows students to porperly prepare for exams and learn thouroughly . Exams are don twice a semester , each subject has it's exam of 3 hours . Teaching methods can be improved by focusing more on practical knowledge than theoretical knowledge

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start the 5th semester onwards, although the package is very low given the current status of courses of BBA and BCom Hons in the country with not much scope in the market, also the amount of students getting placements is very low with some decent companies although my plans after getting a degree from here is to pursue MBA.

Remarks:

Well, My course was BBA(FIA) which is offered by this college only for maled in Delhi University, apart from that the reputation of the college and the average package/past placements were the major factors in choosing this college.

Placement Experience:

The placements are also good. Several known firm enter our college for hiring offering a decent package.
