- The seniors are friendly and helpful , they conduct a website named BEING civil where all the previous year questions and notes are posted which is very helpful for juniors
- The campus is nice , it has very nice ambience and greenary, the campus is ragging free and student friendly
Dislikes
- The infrastructure is bit old and needs to be improved
- The hostels are bit old and food is not that good, the water sometimes causes problem
Course Curriculum Overview :
Civil engineering of IIEST is highly reputated, they have produced many stalwarts of this field over the years, the alumni network is vast and widespread over the world , they are working in top posts in premium companies. The civil engineering is an evergreen branch and has always its demand , - it attracted my interest for the course. The curriculum is well designed, the internships and industrial visit programs ans seminars with the stalwarts of the industry is conducted frequently - which gives us the clear idea about the real world applications and the further goals or academic pursuits. The curriculum is nice but needs a bit improvement to cope up with the changing demands of the industry. Two exams are conducted in a semester - mid sem and endsem , there is about a gap of 2-3 months between these two exams. the difficulty level is moderate.
Internships Opportunities :
The internship opportunities are mostly available in the 3rd year. companies like pwc, LnT constructions etc provide internships . The opportunities are great, one of the seniors got internship in PPEL, with as such ni stripend.
Placement Experience :
students become eligible for campus placement from 7th sem. Many companies like ITD cementation , AFCON, PWC, SMS group, LnT constructions, ICICI bank , TCS visited and made over 80+ offers ( placement is still going on). About 70-80% students get placed. One can also pursue M tech from IITs or esteemed foreign universities after b tech.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee is not increased. Tuition fee per semester is 62500. GAABESU scholarship is available for eligible students , full fee waiver is given for students with annual family income below 1 lakh and 2/3rd waiver for students with annual family income between 1-5 lakhs.
Campus Life :
REBECA is the annual cultural fest held in month of April, INSTRUO is the technical fest. large number of books is available in the library , the stock is huge and the library is digitalized. Sufficient facilities like AC, fan ,board with projectors is available in the classrooms. The sports culutre is very good , there is well maintained ground. there are many clubs and societies run by students like ICCHE-social welfare club to provide free education to slum kids and provide cloths , books etc to them, QMB- quiz club, EUPHONY- music club , REFLEXOBETA- dance club, ROBODARSHAN- robotics club
Hostel Facilities :
4 sharing room is available in first year. Bed, table and an almirah is provided per student, the rooms have sufficient lights and fans. The hostel has all basic facilities like washing machine, purified water, 24x7 electricity, free wifi etc. food quality is average. the hostel registration is done during admission in the college,
Admission :
The candidates are selected on the basis of their jee mains rank by JOSAA and CSAB counselling. 75% marks in 12th is neccessary . The details for application form , application fees and other details is available in the institute website.
Faculty :
The faculty is student ratio is very nice, the faculties are available to clear any kind of doubt, they are student friendly and very much helpful. All the faculties are highly qualified and have pursued their phd and master degree from top universities like IITs and other foreign Universities. They are very much student friendly and often interact with us to clear our academic and non academic problems. They are available and can be apporached for mentorship and other problems.
