Pandit Deendayal energy University college review

Dislikes

  • Part which i dislike most is outdated syallabus, but in 2024 they are revised whole syllabus so that won't be an issue any more, they are now adding subjects like singing and dancing for overall development
  • Our college does not have great placement statistics.with fees of about 11 lakh for four years, the placement ratio is very less and not upto the mark.

Course Curriculum Overview :

So being completely honest, our curriculum is outdated, batch of 2023 will be last batch with outdated curriculum, from next year onwards they have changed whole curriculum. This year although we are from Computer science branch,we had courses of civil and mechanical with 4 credits whereas C-programming was of just 1 credit, which seemed very unfair. But from next year they have revised whole syllabus, and incorporated new subjects like AI-ML,UI designing etc Talking about exams pattern, our marks out of 100 are divided into mainly 3 parts mid semester, end semester and internal assessment.mid semester is of 50 marks which is converted to 25,end semester is of 100 marks converted to 50 and internal assessment is of 25. Talking about difficulty level, they are easy to score if you have studied well, they don't ask anything out of the box, just revise the notes, attend class regularly and you can easily score 9+ CGPA.

Internships Opportunities :

Since I am from first year i cannot tell you much about intership and companies offering it,but things I got to know from senior was that it's compulsory to do intership in 7-8th semester, you can choose either to do internship in college or in any other company

Placement Experience :

Our placement are average being honest, after spending hefty money, placements are not upto the mark. After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Some famous Companies that visit on campus Is JP morgan, Infosys, tata consultancy services, Aditya Birla group and reliance industries. For CS branch the average was of 9 lpa with highest being of 38 LPA.for all other branch average was around 7-6lpa. Almost 50% of students goes for higher studies and out of remaining 50%,only about 60-70% of them are placed. My plans is to prepare for CAT and get into good B-school

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

PDEU is very expensive college when compared to other colleges in Gujarat,we have high tuition fees when compared to other colleges. So our semester fees is of around 1,36,000 and with each year it increases by 6%. Tuition fees of 1,20,000 Enrollment fee of 3,000 Library deposit of 3,000(refundable) Security deposit of 10,000(refundable) Total fee for four years will easy go upto 10-11 lakhs.including hostel it could easily go to about 17 lakhs Our college also provides full fee waiver to students who have high score in jee mains and gujcet.although you have to get 8.5+ CGPA to continue it in next semester. College is very expensive, but beautiful too, facilities are top notch,so if you can afford fees of 11-12 lakhs for 4 years, then you can join.

Campus Life :

PDEU is very social college,we have tons of events, tons of fest, tons of clubs and tons of friends. We have mainly 3 fest Tesseract which is technical fest Flare which is cultural fest Energy cup which is sports fest And all three of them are colourful and we'll organised.concerts,EDM are very common and are nice place to socialize with others. Coming to libraries,we again have 3 libraries.they are very comfy and aesthetic.they are very big and open for most part of day and in weekends too. Classrooms are well equipped with Air conditioners and projectors.infrastructue of PDEU in general is very good . Sports facilities too are great,we have our own newly inaugurated sports complex which includes running track, basketball, lawn tennis courts.we have around 6 badminton court,4 basketball courts,4 lawn tennis court, and 3 football/cricket grounds.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are 2 sharing and have all necessary things like Aur conditioners, bed, mattress, study table etc.rooms are clean and comfortable too. Although mess food is below average.even though they take a lot of fees, food is either stale or either too overly spicy and unbearable too eat.

Admission :

For enrollment in pdeu, they mainly focus on JEE mains marks,if you have around 93-94 percentile in jee you can enroll in CS department. Enrollment process is very easy, just visit there official website, they would be having new admission portal, full the form and you are all ready for admission.they will release rank based on the enrolled students and cutoffs of each branch based on that rank.if you qualified then you just have to pay semester fees and you can join the college I have no idea about benefits of reservation since I am from general category

Faculty :

Faculties in PDEU are highly qualified in their respective fields.almost all of them have PHD and have a published research papers. They are always up to solve doubts of students and also arrange special classes known as doubt classes specially focused to solve doubts. We have special system known as mentor teacher.they are teachers which looks upon each students personal as well as academic problems.you can share anything with them and they will always try to solve them.be it academic issues like attendance issue or personal problems, they will help with everything. Although I am not saying we have top class faculties, some of them have ego issues and are little non considerate, but most of them are friendly with students.

As of last year, most of the students who applied for campus placement got placed but with an average ctc of rs 5 lakh/annum. The companies visited include Adani Port, Adani gas, Torrent Power, and other companies. The highest package was rs 15 lakh. Generally, most students from here prepare for entrances like a gate, toefl, cat, etc for admission in masters.
