A good college for Electrical engineering

Dislikes

  • Political influence is prity dominant, there is a separate party office which I didn't like at all.
  • The hostel facility is not that great. It difficult to get rooms in the hostle. You have to live in mess with other roommates.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was always fond of electrical equipment and stuff so I opted for this course. I don't like the semister method of examination. I think you need more time to fully understand the subjects, six months is not enough time to learn the course. I came to blame the college for that, teachers don't get enough time to teach the subjects with depth, they have to complete the course within time. So it's better to opt for private tuition.

Placement Experience :

Placement in this college is not that great. Some non reputed companies come but they offer very less salary. Sometimes good company like L&T comes. It's better to prepare for government jobs after the completion of the course.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

It is a government college so the fee is comparatively very low. The admission fee is around 2000 rupees and there is a semester fee of 750 rupees. But the exam board takes an additional 250 rupees as examination fees.

Campus Life :

There is very little extracurricular activity on this campus. It's only for studying. Some cultural programs happen but it is not something extraordinary. There is no club or something like that inside the campus apart from the large ground.

Admission :

You need to qualify and get a good rank in the jexpo exam which is the entrance examination for diploma course. As it is a government college so you need to get a rank below 2000 to get admission in this college. Then you have to attend the online councelling process and select your preferred colleges as per your preference order.

Faculty :

The number of facility members ain't that high. There is only one teacher for one particular subject. For some subjects there were not even a single teacher. But the teachers are highly qualified and passionate about their teaching. You can interact with teachers almost everytime. Some teachers even guided us for government jobs preparation in future.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Diploma in Computer science and engineering. From a small agr as I always wanted to study Engineering so it encouraged me to choose this course. At first I wanted to study B.Tech in CSE but class 12 percentage wasn't enough for it so I decided to study Diploma in CSE and after that later I'll study B.Tech. Diploma is also a very good course to study on, it is the pathway to study B. Tech later. The course includes the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Computer and Mechanics as well as Basic Electrical and Electronics engineering subjects which prepares for our day to day world if we study then properly. In each semester we have 3 internal exams and lab exams for each subject and at the end we have the End Semester Exam(ESA). The Internal exams are quite easy and everyone scores good in that exam but the ESA is quite tough and students have a hard time scoring good in the subjects in ESA. But if we study hard then we can easily score good in the ESA also.

Placements are below average. Since 3-4 companies only arrived at our college and average package was 2-3 lakhs per annum. I got placed in a startup company "Underscore Technology Private Limited", who was providing 16-18k per month for Front end developer role. But due to higher studies, I declined the offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was sure from the very starting of my preparation for jexpo that I would choose civil as my course. The curriculum was not that much difficult to understand. The theory part of this course is good but through my point of view practical should be more broad in this course. The frequency and the timing of the exam is good and it is in a moderate level

After 4th semester, companies will be coming to our campus for job opportunities, There will be 5 to 6 companies coming each year at least... They will take written tests also interviews before selection... The highest package after doing an internship for 1.5 years a student can get 12-13lpa. The company which offers this facility is called "Thoughtworks". 40-50% of students will be getting placements. Depending on their knowledge and quality. Though I plan to do BTec after this.
