Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is getting updated frequently but new technologies like AI has completely changed the entire concept of knowledge, skills and market. The course curriculum should be improved to help the students for better future possibilities in this changing environment. AI tools and such newer technologies should be introduced.
Placement Experience :
Average salary of 3 LPA is provided by almost all the placements that came to our college according to the information I have. Our department has the less students getting placed. The CSE department has the most placements. After this degree I am currently looking forward for M.tech.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are comparatively lower since it is a Government College. And I get Egrantz shcolarship which also reduces the tution fees every year. But the college bus fee has to be paid even if we do not use it. I recieved about Rs.15000 in the first year, 6000 in the 2nd year and 6000 in the 3rd year.
Campus Life :
The technical event occurred in our college once in the 4 years of my campus life. Annual events started from my 3rd year since the first two years were affected by Corona. I am currently enrolled in technical clubs like IEEE and ISTE. Sports events occur annually in the summer. There is a department library for each department and there is a main library.
Admission :
I wrote the JEE mains, CUSAT exam, CUCET exam and KEAM exams for getting admission to engineering colleges. I didn't get the required ranks for the JEE mains but my KEAM rank was not that bad, so I applied to all the best engineering colleges in Kerala with preferance to those colleges nearby. First I got admission to Calicut university, but I wasn't satisfied with the fees. So i reapplied for government colleges. I got my next admission to Government Engineering College Wayanad which was my top preference due to some factors like nice climate, nearby location and the electrical course that I was interested in. The admission process was simple. I was also eligible for Egrantz scholarship and recieved it. The frequency and timings of exams for the first two years was difficult due to Corona but later on I felt like getting adapted to the system.
Other Applied Colleges
Government Engineering College - [GECK] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Design)
I wanted to go for electrical engineering but there was no such course at that college
