Likes

Placements are very good in the college. Nearly all the students gets placed, considering they study well.
The cultural and technical fests are really good and it make us relax after a stressful schedule.

As a government college strikes are common here and hence the attendance is a serious issue.
Also all the faculties do not cover all the portion before the exam.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am an electronics and communication engineering student. So considering this course, I believe it has many benefits when it comes to dealing with the outside world. When we are in the first year, we will be having all the main subjects, that is all basics of the main subjects like civil,mechanical, electrical and electronics for studying. Only after the second year we will be moving to our core area. So we will be having a basic understanding of all the basics. I think that is a major benefit of choosing btech.

Class Size : 67Course Fees : INR 40000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

When we take admission for the merit seat, we will have to pay an amount of 65000 and after that we will have to pay an amount of 40000. When it comes to the management seat we will have to pay an amount of 75000 per year. This college provides additional reservation for ksrtc employees students too. But for the NRI quota students, they will have to pay an amount of 1 to 1.5lakhs approximately. And yes various number of scholarships are available for the students too. Considering this a govt aided college, placements are available. There is 100 percent placement for the CS branch students and also for other students too. So there is no need to worry about the placements.

Campus Life :

Our college is one of the very few colleges in kerala that conducts even the arts day with so much grandeur. We have the arts day which lasts for 3 days, then the technical fest 'advent' which lasts for 2 days, and the cultural fest ' cult a way ' which happens at kanakakkunnu for 3 days. People from all over the district come to watch as celebrities from all over the nation come to celebrate along with us.

Admission :

I got admission into the college based on the KEAM entrance score.The college provides merit,management and NRI seats. The cutoff rank differs for each department. Anyways,we need to get a nice keam rank, considering it is a govt aided college. I did not get any reservation benefits as I am in the general section but there are reservation benefits for the students. The exams are quite tough but nothing we can't crack if we study persistently. The admission process is quite simple we can get admission through the government seat allocation or if there are any free seats after the govt allocation, there will be stray allotment also.

NIT Cailcut-The Good,Bad and the Ugly

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high. Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
