MIT WPU: Should you take admission?

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is not that great and anything special. They teach you the basic mostly and you have to leverage the knowledge you have gained by yourself. They should improve their course curriculum and make it more comprehensive, enjoyable and also helps us in real world applications. Although they have implemented the trimester pattern so a semester lasts for three months and everything is rushed including the exams.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities are made availale to us through Pod.ai and superset apps which college has introduced. We also get placement opportuninties too. Averag stipend would be around 5-6k per month. The projects given fall under the electronics field, for electronics students obviously.

Placement Experience :

The placement is typically average. Most of the company are offering around 3-8 lpa. Students are eligible for placement in their final year. Some prominent companies that visited are Bosch, Tor.ai, SLB, etc. Currently about 30% of them are getting placed. My plan is to get a job after getting a degree.

Fees and Financial Aid :

There was not any fee structure. There is availability of many scholarships. The fees for Electronics and Communication is Rs. 3,10,000 per year. I did apply for disability scholarships and got it deducted to about Rs. 86,200.

Campus Life :

Campus life is good. There are many activities and events that are held throughout the year. The library is accessible to all and there are many books available for the courses. Recently they started the e-Library available in their website. Every classroom has a TV screen where they use whiteboard and display ppt. Sports events are held somewhere around September-October which is an inter college competition. There are various clubs present in college and students can apply through interview process. Although it does get difficult to manage studies and club together.

Admission :

The admission process was easy. I applied during the Covid so it was online. I logged in to their website and found the application form easily. They released the cutoff marks of JEE and CET exams for different branch. I wanted to apply in Computer Science but the cutoff was so ridiculously high that i had to settle for Electronics and Communication.

Other Applied Colleges

Indian Institute of Information Technology - [IIIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

There was no vacancy in CSE branch.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness is 8/10 . For the first year , we're focussing on science and mechanics and will shift our focus to computer science around the second year . The curriculum prepares us well for real life working conditions . Exams occur every 2 months which is enough time to prepare for it
