Course Curriculum Overview :

The Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication course offers a dynamic curriculum that caters to the modern demands of the media industry, making it a compelling choice for aspiring communicators like myself. In today's digital age, where information dissemination is rapid and influential, this course equips students with the necessary skills to navigate through various media platforms effectively. The curriculum impressively balances theoretical knowledge with practical applications, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the field. From journalism ethics to multimedia storytelling techniques, each aspect of the curriculum is meticulously designed to prepare students for the real-world challenges they'll encounter post-graduation. What truly influenced my decision to pursue this course were the specific aspects of the curriculum that focus on practical experiences. Through internships, workshops, and hands-on projects, students are exposed to real-world scenario

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for campus placements from the final semester onwards. Renowned companies such as Dainik Bhaskar and Navbharat Times visit the campus, offering placements to smart and bright students. The average salary offered is 40,000 monthly, with the highest package reaching 7 lakh per annum. The placement rate stands at around 40%. For those not immediately placed, the college provides support for employability. Personally, I plan to pursue further studies or explore internship opportunities to gain practical experience in my field of interest.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

At our college, every student is offered a scholarship every year until graduation through programs like the Post-Matric Scholarship, facilitated by the state government, and the National Scholarship Program. These scholarships cover students' college fees, ensuring accessibility for all. The college fees for my program are kept nominal, at 6000 for the first semester and 3500 for the second semester, totaling 10000 annually. Regarding tuition fee increase policy, our college maintains transparency by implementing minimal and infrequent hikes, ensuring affordability for students throughout their academic journey. Additionally, students benefit from various financial aid opportunities, including scholarships and campus employment. As for campus employment, students have the opportunity to undertake internships at various media houses during their final year, providing practical knowledge and financial compensation. Additionally, research scholars receive stipends to support their studen

Campus Life :

My campus life experience has been enriching, with diverse social activities, club involvement, and excellent infrastructure. Annual and technical festivals like the GGV Annual Fest in March and events like the NAMO Carnival offer platforms for talent showcasing. The extensive library with nearly a lakh titles promotes academic excellence. Classrooms are equipped with modern technology, including projectors and smart boards, while sports and extracurricular activities are regularly organized. Various clubs, like Chitrakala, cater to diverse interests, fostering community and personal growth. Overall, my campus experience has been vibrant, inclusive, and conducive to holistic development.

Admission :

The admission process at our college is primarily based on the All India level exam known as CUET, held once a year. The application process typically begins between January and February. Cut-offs vary according to categories, with seats allocated accordingly - for general, it's typically above 80%, OBC between 70-80%, and the remaining for ST and SC categories. The difficulty level of the exam is comparable to board exams. Eligibility criteria are communicated through the university's official website. However, one aspect that could be improved is the communication regarding the admission process timeline, as it starts after the announcement of results between July and August, which might lead to confusion or delay for some applicants.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Talking about the curriculam, when I was taking admission here, a pdf was mailed to me which consisted of the course and curriculam of the B.A. Journalism & Mass Communication. As I gone through it, I was surprised that the syllabus was up-to-date with the current standards of the media industry. After spending 3 year of my adacemic life here at Amity, I learnt a lot of things, which I personally take advantage of in my professional life. I don't see any update required for the current course and syllabus. Talking about the exams and their frequency, we used to have a mid-term examination and an end-term examination every semester. These examinations were very responsible for our development.
