Course Curriculum Overview :

Triple Major degree ( English, Geography,History) along with Bachelors in Education in just 4 years is extraordinary. The course intends to produce the best teachers in India through effective theory and practical inputs. BEd is studied through various papers in all semesters. In second and first year, the classes maybe very less compared to other courses. C3 ( Semester Exam ) results will only be released after 6-7 months.

Internships Opportunities :

From 2nd year, students are expected to complete a week each semester in alloted/ selected schools for SCHOOL ATTACHMENT PROGRAMME which determines 100 marks. In 7th semester ,an internship of 45 days are conducted where the student teacher will teach both English and Social in alloted schools.

Placement Experience :

Institute is said to offer 100% placement offers while most of them go for further studies. This year the starting salary options differed from 45000 to 60000 which is a really good package for any BEd college in our country. Schools from all over India and Abroad visits the college for recruiting .

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Institution Fees are 30000 for first year and 15000 for later years (Non Karnataka General students). Fee concessions exist for Karnataka & ST students. Scholarships present for ST students of 4000 rupees.

Hostel Facilities :

A total of 3 hostels for girls and 2 hostels for boys are present inside the campus. Rooms are okay for 2 while in first year, girls need to stay as 3. Taste of Mess food is not that great and the quality also differs each day. Fees are rs13000 for girls and 17000 for boys per semester.

Admission :

An entrance exam by the name RIE - CEE is conducted every year on June or July to select students based on their state quota. For example, for BA.BED only 6 will be selected from Kerala ( MSCEDs have all India Entrance regardless of any quotas ). General,OBC,ST and EWS quotas exist among these seats. The Exam will be based on English proficiency, Teaching Aptitude and reasoning ability ( a total of 160 marks ). Later 40% marks will be credited through our 12th Std marks and 60% out of this exam. All the examinees will get their State rank and Overall rank list . Later Selected Candidates list will be provided and Document Submission dates will be intimidated.

Other Applied Colleges

St. Mary's College Sulthan Bathery | Bachelor of Arts [BA] (English Language and English Literature)

I didn't opt for this college and course because the one offered in RIE Mysore is much more prestigious and is considered more oppertunities-oriented.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course was very hyped for the programmes it offered. It obviously gave such good programmes which opens door for such great placements and opportunities. The curriculum prepares us with the aim of the real world only I don't think the course needs improvement in anything. There are guest lecturers also who come to teach us. It's great. Exams are only for 2 or 3 hours it's very convenient.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is only one internal exam per semester and a semester final exam. Each semester will be of 4 months. It depends on the subject you have chosen which determines the level of difficulty to pass in that particular subject

Placement Experience:

There were no placements give for BA students except some 2-3 girls which sucked as we were not informed properly. The placement cell is ruled by our sociology teacher and it was such a bad excuse for a placement cell. The college made me lose sight of my plans.
