Course Curriculum Overview :

My course was very hyped for the programmes it offered. It obviously gave such good programmes which opens door for such great placements and opportunities. The curriculum prepares us with the aim of the real world only I don't think the course needs improvement in anything. There are guest lecturers also who come to teach us. It's great. Exams are only for 2 or 3 hours it's very convenient.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

My course is Honours in Communication Studies, it is a four year course. It is one of the most expensive courses in the college it takes, 1,13,000 per year, in the starting years it was a little lesser. The course gives you subjects like creative writing, advertising, TV, documentary, radio, Film, Narratives in cinema, Journalism, Psychology etc. It's a course which has a leg in almost every field. Which is really a great opportunity. The fees for 1st year was 1,08,000. second year it increased to 1,11,000 ; third year it is 1,13,500 and then there's a 4th year too. It feels like it's quite worth of the fees for what the course is offering. It gives you a chance to get into the industry. So go ahead and take it!!

Campus Life :

This is the college's biggest festival. usually held in February. Students from every college in bangalore participate in this fest. It has music and dance. Some other feats are, Carmel Tech fest, Carmel Fest. Library and Academic Resources- the library has 1000's of titles across various disciplines including the library of science, history, biology, business, nutrition, medicine etc. Students can also access to online libraries like Jstor and Nlist. Classrooms of Mcc are equipped with modern infrastructure. It has screens, smart boards, projectors. There are also multimedia labs, have recording equipment's, editings is done in Macs in college.

Admission :

Mcc has a stellar reputation. In terms of the programmes it offers in Arts, humanities programmes and has a well established curriculum. The faculty is well experienced. It has strong connections with the industry making it easier for internships and network. No i got into the other colleges, but my priority was Mcc only, so i did get into other colleges, then i instantly got into mcc so i left the other college. For arts it's 10+2, with scores minimum 50-60%. Mcc focuses on merit of the exam ( 12th grade marks) Admission process has Online admissions, Merit based short listing, Interview process. The cutoff for communication studies mostly ranges from 70-80%.

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio could be 5:10. The faculty plays is the most important in shaping a student. There are professors who have done Phd in their courses. Who are very best in their fields. And how they are experienced for about 16,17 years is insane and definitely a plus for the college. Any inconvenience the faculty takes it very seriously to look after the issues and the issues are solved very instantly. Exams: First is the CIA 1 which is internal test 1, for 30 marks, then is CIA 2, which is the same, then we have the End sems. Exams are quite easy if studied, or hard if not studies obviously.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There is only one internal exam per semester and a semester final exam. Each semester will be of 4 months. It depends on the subject you have chosen which determines the level of difficulty to pass in that particular subject

Placement Experience:

There were no placements give for BA students except some 2-3 girls which sucked as we were not informed properly. The placement cell is ruled by our sociology teacher and it was such a bad excuse for a placement cell. The college made me lose sight of my plans.

The department has well qualified lecturers. the college has got a variety of competitions like Aloysius got talent, golden girl, open mic and so on. There is Aloysius premier League, Aloysius football cup, Aloysius volleyball cup, Aloysiad and many other as sports events.

Remarks:

Yeah they charged a lot in fee it's like extra 40000-45000 in my opinion cause they charge extra for exam, long tour and college don't provide any funds for events like fresher or other festival and they don't celebrate Christmas idk they said it's diversed Country but they don't celebrate I guess there are not Christen students in this college. Canteen food is not good. They didn't provide any wifi regarding they had mentioned that they have WiFi
