- Placement is the prime highlight of any IIT in general.
- Alumni base of IIT-BHU is very vast and rich. You can find alumni in any field you pursue
Dislikes
- Food is disappointing to be truthful. It is not even eatable at times
- Hostel and accomodation is also not very upto mark. But again, perks of old iit placement, and equal price to pay for infrastructure.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum in general is not very different from the other colleges in particular, it is the placements in this college. The curriculum is well updated, we are being taught all major languages and tech stack like django, JS, C++, Java. More aspects like Gen AI should be included in my opinion. I also feel topics like blockchain and web3 and cybersecurity should be focussed on. Frequency of exams is very high, it should be lowered.
Placement Experience :
Placement is the best part of my college, Talking about my branch, avg is around 30-35lpa. Over 200 companies visit campus, and all the students get placed usually. In first phase, around 1000 offers are made. I plan to pursue my own venture after my degree
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee is high when you are talking about govt colleges. Recently a hike was introduced. But for economically weaker sections, a lot of scholarships are available. Total around 10 lakhs are required for a general student with no grants ( Including mess, hostels, and academic fees). There are a lot of grants available, not possible for me to name them all. You can take any off campus intern at your will.
Campus Life :
A lot of fests happen round the year, like Kashiyatra, Technex, E-Summit etc. All of them are very fun. Social life is quite good and balanced here. Library is also huge, only timings can be of issue. Major books, journals and publications are available. Classrooms are not technically advanced. Even basic things like AC are not present. Sports centre is quite rich. All types of sports have proper ground and coaches. All major clubs, be it social or technical, are present, and flourishing. All clubs are very inclusive and has a huge number of contributors.
Hostel Facilities :
Rooms are quite small. First two years, triple sharing rooms are there. Meal in mess is also very bland. Canteen on the other hand provides good food. Both are affordable, but not what you expect. Registration process is very simple, not at all complicated.
Admission :
You can take admission by qualifying JEE Advanced. For that you need to qualify JEE Mains. For CSE in IIT-BHU Btech, Cutoff was AIR 880 during my year (2022) JEE Advanced is held every year around may. I belong from General category. I would place JEE Advanced in a high difficulty zone due to originality of questions, and number of students applying for it. In my opinion, JEE advanced is one of the best exams of country. No change is required in it.
