- Campus is too big to explore, it's around 1200 acers.
- Mess food is very poor and unhygienic and quality is too low.
Course Curriculum Overview :
the course curriculum in terms of relevence and comprehensivencess have good, I choose Computer science because in NIT Rourkela we have top faculty for almost all branches. Yes, the curriculum prepares you for real-world applications or future academic pursuits In Classroom, NIT Rourkela don't have smartboard There is no gap provided between exams and papers set modrate to difficult
Internships Opportunities :
In NIT Rourkela you are elegible for internship from 3rd year and top companies like Barclays, Microsoft, Tata provided internship offers to studens and stipen is also good in top companies. You need to have minimum 1 project for applying internship.
Placement Experience :
The Placement is Good in NIT Rourkela, almost 90% student placed every year. from 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. top Companies visits campus for Placement is Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wiprp, Deloitte, etc. In 2023 highest package is 83 lpa, and average package is around 20lpa My plans after getting the degree is became a Good Stand up Comedian.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fee is 5 lakh for b tech and thr hostel fee is 5000 per sem, and mess fee increase few days ago from 17500 to 30000. NIT rourkela not provide any scholarship for UG programs. Campus employment is good
Campus Life :
There is total 3 fests organized in NIT Rorukela by SAC(Student Activity Center), 1. Innovision- Innovision is tech fest of NIT Rourkela and it is one of the largest techno-management fests of Eastern India, going strong since 2004 and inno held in the month of November every year. 2. Cosmopolitan- The Multi-Ethnic Fest of NIt Rourkela and cosmo held in the month of January every year. 3.NITRUTSAV- Odisha's largest literary and Cultural fest organized by NIT Rourkela and NITRUTSAV held in the month of February.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facility is good enough, you provided wifi 24x7 in your room, You provided 1 bed, 1 study table and 1 chair in room, washrooms is clean twice in a day, you also provided watercoller for cold water in summer, and geyser is also provided for hot water in winter for taking bath everyday. Every hostel inside NIt Rourkela have separate mess and food quality is decent. Hostel room is compulsory for every student who study in NIT Rourkela.
Admission :
For addmission in NIT rourkela UG programs, you need to qualify JEE Mains with 75% in your board exams. You find application form in official NIT rourkela website and i think application form is free of cost and dates is open for 15 days. SC ST, PWD, EWS and some others reservation benefits you have in NIT Rourkela
