Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum we are studying is made by the National Medical Council ( NMC) and the curriculum is somewhat a little bit hectic and difficult for many undergraduate students. There are no holidays or vacations stated under this curriculum. And so I would like to request the NMC to please consider the mental and physical health of an undergraduate medical student and to update the curriculum. The faculties are supportive.
Internships Opportunities
One has to compulsory take internship for 1year at TMC and Dr. BRAM Teaching Hospital, Hapania after 4.5 years of academic studies. Also the college pays the interns an amount of 15 thousand rupees per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fees is huge in TMC and is 10.5 lakhs per annum which some middle class peoples cannot afford. But the services availed by the college is good and the education system made by the college is great. One can also avail scholarship from NSP if they are of any caste except General pupils.
Campus Life
We celebrate 3 programs in our college. One is the freshers program named Embryion , other is Foundation day of our college and the other is the College Fest named Neuron. We also celebrate sports day. There is a big library in our college where students can easily get a medical book for reading. We also have a basketball court and a ground where students play in sports class if there is any.
Hostel Facilities
There is compulsory Hostel facility for medical students and a mess whose total cost yearly is 60 thousand only. The mess food is also good and the mess is run by students only. Each hostel room is good.
Admission
The admission process was good. No problems were faced by me. I would suggest more people to take admission in my college if they want to become a doctor. I took my NEET UG in 2021 and got 523 marks in first attempt and got selected in Tripura Medical College ( TMC) and hence my dream to become a doctor was fulfilled. Students can become great doctors after studying in TMC and check the necessary criteria for admission in their website of TMC. One can also get scholarship from NSP if they are of any other caste except General. The college takes yearly professional exams under Tripura University ( Central) and the college itself takes internal examination by their own. I would only recommend the college to please consider and decrease the total fees as it may become very costly for many middle class people who cannot avail such huge money and their dream to become a good doctor also cannot come true.
