Brief Review of NIT Rourkela

Dislikes

  • 85% strict attendance rule makes everyone lazy to attend the class

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is partially up to date to meet the industry standards and the syllabus is being currently worked upon to ensure that it meets the industry standards. There isn't much pressure as compared to other branches of this institute so everyone gets ample amount of time to increase their overall skills.

Internships Opportunities :

If you are from IT background like CSE OR ELECTRONICS you will get ample amount of internship in your third year and the stats are very good like Amazon Microsoft also intern from here. For core there is not much about internship but for mechanical engineering you can get internship bus of the rourkela steel plant (SAIL) also get intern from here.

Placement Experience :

For students in 7th semester the placement opportunities are available. Companies like Amazon,Ericson, Reliance, etc. visit to provide placement. Highest package is 91 lpa as per 2023 and average package is 15 lpa. Approximately 90% of students get placed in different companies on campus. My plan is to get placed in a company providing good salary.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The National Institute of Technology, Rourkela offers admission in B.Tech through JEE Main. Students who are allotted seats in the institute need to deposit the fees as per the NIT Rourkela fee structure. The NIT Rourkela fee structure for B.Tech, B.Arch and dual degrees is mentioned below. NIT Rourkela fees include one-time deposits like caution money, admission fees and fees paid annually which include tuition fees, hostel rent etc. The NIT Rourkela fee has to be paid online mode through SBI Collect, Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking. Students of reserved categories have been given relaxation in both B.Arch and B.Tech tuition fees of NIT Rourkela. The NIT Rourkela fee structure also has provisions of fee relaxation for families below the income of 1 lakh per annum.

Campus Life :

The campus life is decent. There are total 4 fests in an academic year. Tech, cultural and sports fests are Innovision, Cosmopolitan and Nitrutsav, Vriddhi respectively. The college has central library and the books and journals that are mostly required are available. The classrooms are mostly digital and coolers are also present. There are many sports and extracurricular activities. Many sports grounds and a complex is also there in this college. Many clubs run in the student activity center based on tech, culture, film, art, socio, ect. and have a good impact on student life.

Admission :

NIT Rourkela offers a 4 years long B.Tech program in 14 different specializations of Engineering and charges a total fee of INR 8.22 Lakhs. Admissions to the B.Tech program are based on the JEE Main Exam scores followed by JOSAA counselling process. The institute also accepts Lateral entry admissions for the B.Tech program. The general other state male candidates cutoff rank for CSE was 2883 in 2022

Placement Experience:

In civil branch especially there is not much scope and placement are quite few and the students are also low like in 46 numbers So i will try companies out myself and will secure a company for my growth so no college involvement is there Where as in computer science branch the placement is quite good but the number of students they are bringing is quite much for which i dont think my juniors will get 96 percent placements

Placement Experience:

The placements of my College is quite good up till now and almost 90% students gets placed . But there is declined in the number of students appearing for placements as famous companies do not come to this college , a very few handful of them will only come to take a small portion of students. I plan to pursue freelancing and start early and investing and stocks marketing as I have a lot of interest in that.
