I liked overall vibe of my college. The student quality is good and overall curriculum is updated
I loved placement of my college which was excellent.

Dislikes

I disliked the teaching pedagogy of some professors.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chosed this course as i found it quite interesting with decent career oppurtunity. The course curriculum includes Manufacturing Process, Iron Making, Steel Making, Heat Treatment, Plastic Deformation & Material Science. The faculty members in the course are well qualified with prestigious UG & PG Degrees. We have faculty:student ratio of 1:4 i.e quite well. Faculties have interactive teaching method covering theoritical as well as practical. We usually have a mid term exam and an end term exam in a semester. The standard of exam was quite difficult and its not easy to pass.

Class Size : 58Course Fees : INR 120000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

I got project under college curriculum which was quite interactive. We got opportunity to go to vocational training from college in Durgapur steel Plant. Several companies came for on campus placement drive.

Placement Experience :

As it is an NIT so placements here are quite good. We get all good companies visiting the campus round the year & making decent offers. We consistently get placements above 80%. I plan on doing a job after graduation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The Total fees of our course is Rs. 500000-600000. Students can get fees waiver as per their family income criteria. We have good placement record for our course in this college with prestigious companies like JSW, Reliance, Aditya Birla, JSL, Vedanta directly hiring on campus.

Campus Life :

Our college NIT Durgapur has a vibrant college life littered with Fests, Clubs & extracurricular activities. NIT Durgapur's Annual fest are Aarohan, Recstacy and they are counducted in the month of March. Our library is decent with ample books & journals to gain knowledge. Our classrooms are good with Webcam, AC, Lights & projector. Our college has various clubs like Coding club, Entreprenueruship development cell.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are quite good. New hostels are very good but old hostels need ome improvement. Rooms are quite good with 24*7 power availability. we have 2 fans & 2 tube lights in the room. The mess food is quite eatable. The hostels are quite affordable with 20000 rs per semester registration fees.

Hostel Fee : INR 20000 per year

Admission :

I got admission in NIT Durgapur after clearing national entrance test called JEE Mains. The eligibility of course was Class 12th passed from Maths major. I got a satisfying rank in JEE Mains & pursued josaa counselling through which i got alloted this seat in the 4th round. I found the admission process quite satisfying.

The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester onwards are elegible for campus placements. Some of the companies that visits for placements are Google, microsoft, amazon, pwc, TI, accenture, PPEL, etc. A total of 920 recruiters were there which offered 753 offers to the students and out of them around 75-78% were placed. The highest placement package was offered by microsoft for 51 lpa as PPO to 14 students and the role was IDC. The average package is around 7.5 lpa. I am planning to appear in GATE exam and go for masters in IITs after completion of my degree where i will be persuing my further studies in transportation engineering.

Overall only one thing is important is about hardwork with smart work . You have to work on your skills rest college is there to help you to show the path from your college to carrier .

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards companies are coming to visit in our colleges . You will give exams in four phases that are coding , technical, aptitude and after qualifying all simple interview would be taken . Just develop your skills then surely you will get job . Highest package is about 10 lakh per annum and average is about 5 to 6 lakh per annum. The percentages of getting placed are about 60 to 70 percent . Just keep in mind that choose any language like c ++ , java , python and become pro into it . You will definitely get job .

Very appropriate college for all kind of students !! I recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.Tech in CSE is future proof and a very good course for IT sector jobs and I was always excited working in these companies, that's why I choose the course. There are 10-12 faculties present in every department. Each faculty is M.Tech qualified and Drs. Their teaching quality is very good. 4 internal theory and 2 Lab exams happen each semester. The questions are standard, regular, and sincere students can easily pass.

Remarks:

College was good in terms of studies and many more. But now it fails in giving placement. Most of the students are still unemployed. Only 30% of the students are placed from college. Others have to find there own jobs.

One of the good colleges.

Remarks:

As seeing the college from outside i expected each room tobe AC but unfortunately it's not during the summer days it's pretty hot in the top floors but it's bearable canteen food items are cheap in respect to outside and wifi isn't free and I hate that.
