Students are from vibrant religion ,states and countries.
The Faculty and other staff of university is really good

Dislikes

It is in a village .If you want anything you have to go to bathinda which is 15km away
There are very less number of things to enjoy in the university

Course Curriculum Overview :

CUP is good for phd students.My department has 6 supervisors and 22 scholors currently.Here is a coursework examination after six months of your joining.Mainly ,my department has 6 paper for coursework exam.

Class Size : 22Course Fees : INR 20000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you have any external funding then you can easily avail that fellowship.But if you don't have any fellowship then university provide a fellowship of 8000 per month to scholors which doesn't have any external funding.

Campus Life :

Life of campus is good.It has students from various regions of India and also from countries like Africa ,Niziria etc. Most of students of the CUP are from Kerala and South .It has a good library wher you can stay upto midnight.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel provides you an almirah, chair, table, bed and mattress.There is a small balcony attached to the room . You can get meal through mess inside the hostel or from outside the hostel but within the campus.You can also get PG or Room in Ghudha village easily.

Hostel Fee : INR 21000 per year

Admission :

Ph.d admission is through entrence exam if you don't have any funding i.e. Net jrf,Gate,DST inspire fellowship etc.YOu can get knowledge about the number of vacancies,last date to apply etc through their official website

Admission:

The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) was established im 1989. It is an institute to undertake lead researches in the area of the Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology. To get admission, the candidate should be a post graduate and then they will have to give the entrance exam and they will be selected on the same basis.

Placement Experience:

Phd program is a research level program and the students receive stipend to do the same. The students are provided with jobs and placements offers in various private and government agencies. The institution is very good.

Remarks:

Thapar institute overall has a good image especially for engineering programs but they are not concerning for Master's and PhD students and their placements. The quality of faculty is deteriorating day by day as non-deserving candidates are higher than deserving candidates. they prefer their own connections for giving job to candidates and reject deserving candidates without citing any reason.

Entrance Preview:

The selection is based on merit come interview along with UGC NET. First of all a list is formed on the basis of grades of M.Sc and then interview was conducted in which your further research opinion was discussed. Based on all these parameters final list was made.

Admission:

I got admission in PAU, Ludhiana for master's (M.Sc. Microbiology). The admission was based on entrance exam and list of qualified students was uploaded. Then interview and certificate verification was done. The merit list is for whole basic science college and based on merit students pick their choice of field.
