Remarks

It is a College which has produced a number of leading judges and advocates. That was the prime reason that I joined here is its alumni. The one complaint I have is that there are no hostels here. It is a great inconvenience for many students. Otherwise the campus is well-equipped to meet our needs. The cafeteria is a great one.I often hangout there in my free time with my friends. The senior junior relations are also of a friendly nature. They help us with everything about academics and all.

Entrance Preview

I sat an entrance examination which was for admissions into law colleges under the Utkal University. It had MCQs for us. The valuation was objective without negative marks. I joined college right after I finished my 12th class through this entrance. My father was the inspiration behind this course. Seeing him work, I had it in my mind right from my childhood that I wanted to be a lawyer. The college is known for its good faculty and facilities. The reputation made me choose this.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

It is good till now but I have 2 and half more years to complete. So far I think the University has set such a curriculum that will provide us an all round knowledge of the field. It is nice to have the practical aspects here in campus. We have moot courts, debates etc very frequently in campus. The theory part covers mostly pure law and legalities. There is also the ethics of the profession to be learnt thus. It is an intense study so yes, the curriculum is good. No, I don't think there are any researches going on in college.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, It does provide internship opportunities. It was a really good experience. There was no stipend for the internship. It is not compulsory for us to do the internship. We have the choice whether or not to do. But I think the experience is always a good one to have.

Placement Experience

1

There isn't much till now. Placements is not one of the strong points of the college. Ours is law college so may be that's why we don't have placements. So far, most of our seniors either joined law firms as juniors or went for the post graduation degree. The college doesn't help in getting jobs in any way.

College Events

4

The annual college fest- Armonia- is a grand event. The fest is conducted in a really great manner. Many teams from different colleges participate. The footfall is increasing every year. And the accommodation were provided very nicely. All sorts of facilities were given to the participants. Last year, it was good and everyone appreciated the events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The whole fee is pretty affordable. My education costs only 35,000/- per year. It is a minimal amount compared to other law colleges. We have more than enough facilities here and great professors. It is a well chosen figure, the fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

No,the college does not provide us scholarships. And , no, it doesn't help in any way to secure loans. Basically, the fee isn't high that we can't totally afford it. Only few students are in dire need of loans. They usually ind the loans on their own. the maximum that college does is provide them with the necessary documents to avail loans.

Campus Life

3.5

Many opportunities were given to participate extra curricular activities. There is cricket, football, badminton and basketball in sports. I play cricket sometimes. Then there are lots of clubs like the Nature club, the language club, Debate club etc. It is not compulsory for students to join one But most take part in activities because it is the best way to make new friends in college.Yes,I do explore my talents in many sports events. Having played games several times, I can say that the facilities are pretty good.

Hostel Facilities

3

No. There is no hostel in campus. That is a major necessity lacking in campus. We really need a hostel. Right now, those who can't make the daily journey find houses to stay almost 2 or 3 kms away. They pay around 10,000 per month for the home as rent. Usually, the home is shared by 6 or 7 students and they share the rent among themselves. There are no PGs. I don't know about the food but I suppose it's okay. Most of them cook for themselves or depend on hotels nearby.

Alumni/Alumna

There has been no such interaction till now. Since ours is a five year course, we get to know almost 8 batches of students in our stream. That is all the interaction there is.The personal contacts if we have any are useful once we get outside in the world.

Exam Structure

No, it is totally a chill culture. We have two exams in a semester. They don't put pressure on us with strings of mock tests or monthly surprise quiz. Actually, the main focus here is about preparing us for being a lawyer in its true sense. The institution trains us to live the life that we would be living once we are out of the college. The kind of education we are provided is centered on the practical aspects and is meant to deepen our understanding of how the law works.

Faculty

4

All our professors are well qualified. The teaching standards are pretty good. The teachers all have unique methods of teaching. Some of them prefer interactions while others are all about continuous lectures. Notes also vary from one professor to the other. While some of the teachers ask us to take don lecture notes, most prepare notes for us and give them to be photocopied. It is very detailed and aims to get us through the exams. The classroom debates and seminars are conducted by the students themselves. Professors act as moderators and help in channeling discussions in the right path. They are all serious people. Some are really fun to be around.
