  • System - overall the management system of the University is sloppy.
  • Lack of extracurricular activities - this college conducts hardly any extracurricular activities to teach students something other than things in the book.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose mathematics because I love maths. Per batch on average there are only 20 students. In BSc mathematics major boys are more in number than girls with 5:1 ratio. In other science majors girls and boys are around in the ratio of 1:1 with average 20 - 25 students per batch, same as mathematics. Around 6-7 teachers are there per major on average and around 15 for commerce. All the teachers are highly experienced with decades of teaching experience and there are rarely any vacancies. Term exams are not conducted timely as my batch got admitted in the month of September and all semester are shorter than usual to make up for the time lost due to Corona pandemic. Term exams are not that difficult as well as not that hard. They are of the optimum level and with regular studying a good score can be secured.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are extremely affordable. They never axceed around Rs.5000 annual. Maybe a couple of thousands more for computer science majors. There is around Rs.1500 per semester exam fees. State scholarships are availed by the college who apply for it. Main two scholarships are post matric scholarship and ug merit scholarship. There are no financial assistance or campus jobs available in my university.

Campus Life :

Annual sports fests are conducted each year in the month of December. Many tech fests and workshops are conducted frequently every month except for exam months. Library is full of all the books of all the majors or minors written by famous writers. Except those many books like novels, fictions / non-fictions etc. are also there. Sports is a major forte of our university as many sport events are conducted frequently by the state government.

Admission :

Eligibility is to have completed 12th. Selection into my college is based on 12th percentage. It's a merit based selection system. Application form is available in the SAMS(student academic management system) Odisha website. There are reservations for students of sc/st category and students belonging to minorities. Overall the admission process is good but slow. It takes months for to get admission. If this long and arduous process can be made simpler and faster then it would be great.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course of integrated BSc BEd or BA BEd has demerits and I suggest you not to take admission in it as it's not accepted in central government curriculum due to some curricular glitches..Apart from that for general UG CBCS syllabus is the best

Placement Experience:

The are decent opportunity to explore while in the college. Campus placement are not frequent but the campus drives are shared among the students. The compensation varies according to roles and the requirements. The percentage of getting placed through college is less but if one's tries and have a proper communication with their faculty members and stay updated with latest news and campus drives acan help to grab a good opportunities. I have already graduated and have decent experience to work effectively in the organization.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides a good base of knowledge for the placement of students. Though on-campus placements are very rare in our college students get very good off-campus placements due to their knowledge acquired in the college and good recognition of the college in and out of the state. The students become eligible for placements in their pre-final semesters and they go to various companies for off-campus interviews. Companies like Deloitte, Infosys, TCS holds a good number of jobs for the graduates which our students easily crack and get placed. The highest package to date went up to 6.25Lakhs per annum and the average package remains about 2.25Lakhs per annum. Around 80-90% of the technical subject graduates get places but other subject placement is around 50% as most of them pursue their career in higher studies or research fields. I always wanted to join the defence forces and if not selected in it, I am sure to get a good package after my graduation in Computer Science.
