Mainly focused only on academics. You won't get that good feeling of college life like in the movies

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen an electrical engineering degree as it is rapidly growing. Also, it has great career potential in our country. Faculties are really friendly. I haven't experienced any partiality or depressing behavior from them. About 1:30 might be the faculty-student ratio. 2 sessional exams are conducted in every semester. At the end of the semester university exam commences.

Class Size : 38Course Fees : INR 74000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

For seeking internships you will have to find them yourselves. The college will provide duty leave to those who do internships. But as per the Jewish curriculum of the university, you are supposed to get 6 month internship. So that might bring changes.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placements by the seventh semester. Mainly computer science students are placed more than other branches. For getting placed in this college you will have to be skilled in other areas like coding other than academics. The percentage of placed students is relatively low (less than 5%).

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you are a regular student, your fees will be around 44,500 per semester. There are reservations for backward classes. You can avail of scholarships if you have a good score in keam. The college is managed by Catholic priests. So you can approach them for the concession of fees if you have difficulties in paying them.

Campus Life :

Tharang is the most reputed tech fest in Jyothi College. Proshows are really cool. They are conducted in the month of April. Several other fests are conducted here. Over 16000 books are available in the college's main library. Also, digital library is also there ensuring the availability of required journals. The classroom has neat & clean desks and projectors. Sports and arts are conducted annually. Social group like NSS is present.

Admission :

The main Eligibility criterion is to crack keam entrance examination. If you have a good rank you can avail scholarship and study for free. Else you can also get admission via management quota but you will have to pay donation fees.

NIT Cailcut-The Good,Bad and the Ugly

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high. Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.
