My first year at MMNIT

Dislikes

  • The freshers party was more of a program rather than a party is was like some school independence day program

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Btech(Electrical engineering) due to the scope of it in both tech and non-tech jobs, This branch also had a good average package of 21.20 lpa from my college. for labs, our class is divided into two groups namely n1 and n2 and each group is further divided into subgroups where one teaching assistant is assigned to each group of 5-8 students, in lectures all 104 of us sit together in front of one professor only. most of our faculties are PhD or MTech from IITS, and we have projectors as well as normal black boards some of our teachers use traditional methods(chalk and board) and others use slides prepared by them. we have to appear for mid sem and end sem exams for passing a particular semester ,they are easy to pass but maintaining a good CPI is tough

Internships Opportunities :

as a student in the first year, we are not provided any internship opportunities by the college, it is only from our 4th sem that we would be eligible for internship but as far as we know most internships are tech related there are very less internships related to non-tech profiles.

Placement Experience :

our collage is known for its excellent placements ,considering placements only it is better that many of new iits, avg package of last year was 20.34 lpa(B-TECH all branches combined). students become eligible for placements at the end of their 7th semester almost every top company visits our collage ,last year over 1057 jobs were offered by more than 300 comapnies. percentage of students placed in betch was almost 92.. i would be preparing for on campus placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure of college varies depending on the annual family income of the student, If the family income of a student is less than 1 lac per anum he/she doesn't need to pay the semester fees(62500), similarly, students that have a family income between 1 lac to 5 lac get a remission of 2/3rd of the semester fees, SC/ST/PH students don't have to pay any tuition fees. a general category student having a family income of More than 5 lpa pays approximately 2.5 lpa including hostel mess and everything. we don't have on-campus jobs, and to date, I haven't received any scholarship or financial assistance.

Campus Life :

Campus life is pretty much decent we have different events and seminars related to different topics to keep us engaged, culrav is the annual cultural fest of MMNIT this year it was conducted in April month, Tech fest is AVISHKAR which is generally conducted in the month of nov academic as well as not academic books are available in the library in good numbers however availability of books related to UPSE and ESE is less. the classroom is well-equipped with ACs and smart boards. sports activity are taken care of by the respective clubs, clubs related to every sport like cricket badminton football chess etc, is present in collage. for extracurricular activities we have clubs like Core Drams, mhm mnnit, South Folk, Bhangra Committee etc. Robotics Club of mnnit is run by students for students. robotics club. mmnit.ac.in is the website of the robotics club.

Hostel Facilities :

First-year rooms are quite large with an attached study room in which we are provided three study table and three chairs as each room is shared by three of us, rooms are equipped with ceiling fans as well as three lan ports which provides us with a speed of around 30 Mbps we have workers who clean our room every second day also each room has a small attached balcony. meal quality is decent and the menu is decided by students only, we get served 4 times a day (including evening snacks). we are asked at the time of admission if we want to opt for a hostel, we simply have to fill out a form to get our room allotted.

Admission :

for admission we have to appear in the JEE-mains examination which is conducted by NTA, we must have a minimum of 75 % in boards(CBSE)or we must be in the top 20 percentile of our respective boards, the cutoff of JEE mains varies depending on the category of students, seats are reserved for SC ST, OBC, GEN-ews, PWD, once we get our scores we have to apply for counselling through jossa to get a seat. The date of the jee mains examination is announced by the NTA itself and we can apply for jee mains on the official website of the NTA(national testing agency). I am a general student so I did not get any reservation benefits. The admission process was smooth for me.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester, students can start getting placement if they had done an internship with any company. Otherwise, in the 7th and 8th semesters, most of the students get the placement. Many renowned companies come and offer jobs in college. About 70 percent of the students get the placement.

Placement Experience:

More specifically if I am talking about placement is that if you want to get good placements in dei that you must maintain your sgpa at least 8 points for you to appear in the placement cell. There are many companies visited in college like torrent power for electrical branch and other for their respective branches. Around 60% of students get their placements through college and it also depends on students' ability and skills. Since I am in the 4th semester so yes from 3rd year students get their training or internship through college to students with good grades. So you must have to maintain at least 8 sgpa for better placements.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college have been great so far. All the major companies and tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Adobe, AWS, DELL, etc came for placements this year. The average package this year for BTECH students was 8.6 lakhs per annum. Also, the highest package so far has been 44 lakhs p.a. Almost all students are placed with good packages so it is an ideal choice to choose Bennett University for higher education.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in GCET, Although they vary from time to time. For placements, students are eligible from the 7th Sem. Companies like Direct-I, Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc. all visited the campus. The highest package I now am 21LPA buy it can be more. And except recession 60-70%, people are placed. Rest it all depends on students as well.
