Nice college

Dislikes

  • Surrounding area is not so good and developed well its developing and students go out for trips and hangout
  • Fees structure is maybe the main discussion as college ask high fees from OBC and OPEN category students and sometimes we feel that the fees charging is not appropriate as per the facilities provided by the college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I am a mechanical engineering student in VIIT and I was aiming for CS but due to low score in CET I ended up in Mechanical but I have no regrets of it as Mechanical branch carries me forward and my moto was that getting a good college is way more important than getting preferred branch and now I am happy with Mechanical. Faculty is full of Phd and Mtech holder with years of experience. The teacher and student ratio is 1:10. Term and End Sem exams are well fixed from the start of the semester when the semester calendar is launched and passing the exam in our college is so easy. Every subject have 100-125 marks and frm that 55-65 marks are internal marks and 50-60 marks written exam is there distributed in the In Sem and EndSem Examination. The best this is there is no combine passing and you just have to score 50 marks out of 125 to pass that perticular course.

Internships Opportunities :

Tons of internship opportunities are there in the college just you need to be a skilled candidate who fits in the industry. MasterCard, Mercedes Benz, CIE pvt. ltd. etc are some companies that offer internships to students and after that PPO. Professors also provide internships to students and various industry projects are allotted from TY only.

Placement Experience :

As I am from the Mechanical department, placement here is highest in the college from any other branch. The mechanical department has the highest number of placed students with an average package of 4-6 lpa. From the 6th semester, you are eligible to sit in campus placement. In the mechanical department Ansys, JSW, BMW, Nvidea, Atlas Copco, etc are some main companies that offer jobs to our students. I am also going to sit for campus placement in core mechanical engineering while pursuing a degree as campus placement starts in the second semester of your 3rd year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is like you have to register yourself every year by paying your fees completely or in installments. Colleges have various portals for the installment of fees. But we don't like one thing that colleges ask a lot in the name of exam fees, various other charges and fees are rising every year for every category of student. College provides scholarship forms but I don't know if I ever get any scholarship money.

Campus Life :

The campus is quite small as per the other colleges and even the surrounding area is not good if you want to hang out or go to clubbing you have to go out of Kondhwa. Our college fest's name is Gandharva, it is the annual cultural fest students organize in college mainly in March- April. Even we have Sports Week in which inter-classes and inter-department matches are played among the students in various games in teams and individually. The library tons of books about every subject, an e-library is also available and daily newspaper articles are also available for students. Classrooms are bit old as I said about my department but classes are full of benches, non-ac classes with a projector in every class. The college supports sports a lot. Every guy and every player gets a chance to showcase their talent and their game. Even college has secured various prices for different sports. Most of the clubs in our college do have not a single professor involved, all work and activities are done by students.

Admission :

Admission process is quite simple you just have to score 75-80%tile in MHTCET and you are eligible for admission in VIIT as at this range of percentile college will offer you Civil or Mechanical branch. If you are aiming for CS and IT you have to score min 97 percentile as an Open candidate to get seat in VIIT, Pune. Admission process is same as other colleges after the CET result cap rounds will start and you have to apply through those rounds even if you want a specific branch then you can apply in Spot rounds also but then you have to pay Open candidate fees regards your category. College also offers seats as per the category sets for admission. Well the chances of getting CS as main branch has increased in our college as 4-5 new CS branches are opened with sub branches in CS.

Students become eligible for placements in their last year. There are many good companies that come and take part in the placement drives. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini etc. come here for placements. The highest package in my understanding was about 30 lakhs as studied and searched by me. Many students secure packages above 3.5 lakhs in our college. About 90% of students get placed through the drives. My plan is also to take a good job from placement and then do my masters.

Admission:

I got admission through CAP Round as directed by AICTE and DTE, the process is of 3 rounds until you choose a college and finalize it. Admission dates for FE students start from around May-June period as college opens at around 15 July approx. And Students need to bring all documents attested and submit the original 10th- 12th documents in the college and after completing the graduation. He/She can collect the originals from the college after collecting LC from the college.
