My Experience in Vydehi Institute

Course Curriculum Overview :

I always dreamt to be in Nursing care. Faculty: student ratio is 3:10. Faculties are well qualified, well behaved and friendly. Term exams are held once in a year with internal exams in between. It's very very difficult to pass the term exams because of regular basis class and clinical postings.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship is there for 3rd year GNM and 4th year BSc students but no stipend is provided to the nursing students by the Hospital authorities. Students work in the general wards, OTs, and ICUs throughout the whole year.

Placement Experience :

From the very beginning of the 3rd year (GNM) and 4th year(BSc), students of those batches can start their internship. After passing these 2 batches students can get placements in our college and hospital. The average package given yearly is 100000. Well-qualified students can avail the offer with a short interview.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is affordable to the average student. The scholarship facility is not there for regular seat students, might be there for Government seat students only. Financial assistance is not provided in major cases. The college provides jobs on our campus and our hospital. Fees hike occur by 5000-6000 per year. Stipend is not provided for nursing students.

Campus Life :

You have to go through strict discipline and you have to come and attend every class and clinical posting at the right time. Nurses' Day is being currently celebrated along with some other programs in different months. Fresher's Day is not celebrated for newcomer students. Numerous books and journals are available there in the college library. Classrooms are well-spaced and ventilated with benches. The presentation room is there for laser presentation class teaching. Sports Day is celebrated along with some other curricular activities. One Facebook page is also there which is run by students, named Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre Unofficial.

Admission :

There was no entrance exam for getting admitted to our college. Any student can apply for our college who has passed the 12th board exam/PUC+2. One can get the application form from the college admin office, he/she can get to know about the application fees and application dates from the Accounts section of our college. Reservation benefits are there only for Government students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The sem exams are held every six months. Nurses are to treat and take care of the patients which should be highly respected. But in colleges there should be more practicals and demo/ practice classes than theory classes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The mentors are strict but also friendly with students. Course is little bit tough to pass. I chose this course because of its high profile in society. Good salary abroad. Girls are more number than boys. Teachers are MSC holders and Ph.D. holders. Teaching methods are easily adaptable .internal exams are done per 3 months and it's a little difficult to pass exams.

Admission:

I got admission to the college on merit basis. Students are called for the counselling on the basis of their marks in class 12. Admission process was pretty smooth and the administration was very helpful during the counselling.

Placement Experience:

Placement assistance is not provided by the college, as such. But students can enrol for the six month internship from the hospital. Although, a pass-out from our college never faces any issue regarding job.
