It is a very good place for people to interact. People are very friendly and helpful. Administration is not so helpful

Entrance Preview :

Yes, I gave an entrance examination for B. A. Economics. Jamia conducts combine entrance examination for B. A. Economics, B. Com and B.B.A.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum is quite old. It needs to be updated. Research conference and seminars are held quite frequently.

Internships Opportunities :

College do not provide any internship. Students have to do it on their own. So this needs to be taken care of by the authorities

Placement Experience :

The placement scenario is quite bad. Only few students get placed during last few years. There is lack of proper management regarding placement cell.

College Events :

Jamia organised many technical, cultural and managerial fests every year. There is debate club, drama club, singing club which organizers events time to time

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee is very less and affordable. Being a central university, the fees are very much affordable for poorer sections of the society. 6400/year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, they provides scholarships for students from poorer sections of the society. Students have to be good in studies and extra curriculum activities.

Campus Life :

Extracellular activities are held time to time. Many debates, dramas, quizzes, music, singing competitions are organised.

Hostel Facilities :

It's sharing room. But hostel has a lot of facilities

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes Jamia has stared its alumni network. It is well organised platform for one to interact with the alumni. Many departments organises alumni meets.

Exam Structure :

We have a semester system. During one semester, we've two internal assessments and one term papee which is quite hectic

Faculty :

Faculty is quite qualified but in my opinion they lack experience in teaching. They needs to be trained properly

Maitreyi College is Underrated, A VERY NICE EXPERIENCE

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

The course curriculum is not updated . Teachers uses old method of teaching on pen and paper. Like in statistics now various tools are available in market and instead of making us learn those tools teachers are teaching the most basic things on pen and paper.But the course is very demanding nowadays.

Good and bad's of my college

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is basically design to study economics in a depth so that the understanding of student related to world economic, how economics work , how it affect an individual etc increase and he can work more efficiently to give theories and work in the companies related to economics. The curriculum includes value added course and skill enhanced courses that help us to learn different types of skills that are required in the real world applications. Improvement in these can be done by asking the student to apply all these into real life and connect students with the real life approaches related to the course. For core subjects the timing of paper is 3 hours and for sec and vac courses the timing of paper is 1 hour.

Life as a student in DU

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) i had interest in history from my class 11th. I wanted to further increase my knowledge ane thus accepted my course 2) the course not only prepares u to give exams but actualy leads u to study many papers, books that expands your understanding of the course and also real life challneges where u have to apply it. It also prepares you for further academic pursuits 3) they can opt for more practical learning apart from classroom learning, they can make field trips and let student know about research also 4) the end exams start after 4-5 months of sem start. U are given well enough time to prepare gradually. The assignments, test can make it hectic but if u complete the given work in time, u can prepare well enough for the exams and do well.
