Remarks :

Over all, I would rate this as an above average college with very unique offering in the field of information technology. If IT is your interest, then this is the college for you.

Entrance Preview :

Gave the SNAP entrance test, which is compulsory for getting admission into any symbiosis university college. I opted for SCIT as I had a keen interest in doing MBA in the field of information technology which only this college offers.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course is very IT focused. 2 major streams are 'IT Systems' and 'IT security'. There are many interest electives like IT strategy, Technology management etc which give you a holistic view of the IT domain. Similarly there are electives in security also, which eventually boost your carrier as a thorough security personnel.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, internship is provided where many big companies come and hire students. Some of them also give pre placements if they like the student. Average duration of internship is around 2.5months and stipend changes from company to company.

Placement Experience :

Placements are almost 100% in this college. Many big IT players like the big 4- delloite, KPMG, EY, pwc and many others like Infosys, wipro, accenture, citrix etc. come to the college. Salary varies from 4.5lakhs per annum to around 22lakhs per annum.

College Events :

Graffiti - it is the biggest event of SCIT with footfall of over 3000people. It is a techno-manegerial festival spread across 2 days. Many colleges from across India come to be a part of this event. There lots of quizzes, drama, treasure hunt, debates etc organised as a part of this event. The event ends with a DJ night in the end. Symbiosis Premier league - it is a inter college cricket event organised students of SCIT. colleges participating in this are SCIT, SCMHRD and SIIB.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees can be paid in 4 installments (semester wise) or as a one time payment. During my time the fees was around 7. 5 lakhs approximately. So, at that point of time, I would say that the fees was reasonable as most student would get placed with package of 6 lakhs or above. But of the placement package stats have remained the same and the fees has increased, then I would term it as expensive.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I do not have a much knowledge about the scholarship offered by our college. Although I know that there is some discount on fees for the highest scorer of SNAP entrance test in every batch. Still, i would request you to verify these facts.

Campus Life :

Symbiosis is a international university and so the crowd here is diverse. You will find people of different countries in your batch, but of course, the maximum crowd would be Indians. This college has tie ups with some colleges in Japan. So every year some students from there come here while some students from scit go there. Gender ratio is normally approx 50:50only. Lot of other tie ups for example.,with SAP labs, Australia boost the over all curriculum. Politics cannot be seen in the campus. SCIT is pretty famous for its drama teams, cricket and football teams who take part in various events in various colleges across the year

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel rooms are decent. In 1st year, the boys have to stay in a hostel outside college campus but just a 5minute walk from college. The food is provided in the same hostel for the boys. Where as, the girls stay in hostels inside the campus. They are provided food in the campus canteen only. The caterers are same so the food supplied in both hostels is same. In 2nd year, both boys and girls stay in same campus hostels, but yes, the building for boys and girls hostel is different. Quality of food ranges from below average to average.

Alumni/Alumna :

I have personally not had any such experience of meeting an alumni or taking any kind of help from them. But, we do have alumni meets in major cities like Mumbai, bangalore etc.

Exam Structure :

It's a 2 years course divided into 4 semesters. So, approximately 6 months for a semester. Yes, the number of subjects are quite a lot which gradually reduce as you reach the last semester but still, it will leave you tired each day. Exams happen twice each semester. One is a mid semester exam and the other is a final semester exam. The mid semester exams are of lesser marks and till date portion which has been covered. So these exams consist of 2 subject papers each day. On the contrary, the final exam of each semester consist of full portion and one exam per day.

Admission :

After entrance exams, you have to fill forms of all the colleges you are interested in under the 'symbiosis International University'. Once that is done, if your score fits the criteria of the college, you get an interview call. Interview consists of gd and PI. Then based on the performance combined with the SNAP score and your graduation marks, shortlisting is done and candidates are selected

Faculty :

Faculty is a mixed bag. Of course they all meet the qualification criteria to be a faculty member but what differs is the experience which they bring along. Visiting faculty is normally the one who has lot of industry experience and it really gives a practical picture of what we are actually studying. This makes the subject more interesting. So for the students who genuinely come for learning and not just for placements, love these lectures. In the in house faculty, some professors are extra ordinary while most of them are just about average.

From trimester 4, students are eligible for placements. Every year, top pharmaceutical corporations pay visits to institutions. Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, market research, consulting, IT healthcare verticals, diagnostics, medical communication, nutraceuticals, and other related healthcare sectors are just a few of the industries where students might find work. Sales, marketing, business analysis, project management, client servicing and business development, international marketing, and operations are among the job profiles they pursue. Every year, the most expensive bundles change. Companies give PPOs to high-performing employees.

Placement Experience:

There is a summer internship after the first 3 trimesters where companies come for interviews and roles depend on the company that selects you. It is for 2-3 months usually and is compulsory ie a part of the curriculum to complete to qualify for the degree. Same for final placement, interviews begin after the 4th trimester is done. More than 50 companies came to campus for final placement and highest package given was 11.2 lakhs and average was 8.8 lakhs which depended on the company and the job role. Roles are offered for consulting, IT, media, manufacturing and banking and finance roles of HR Generalist, HR Business Analyst and Talent Acquisition. Companies such as Godrej, IndusInd bank, TCS, Zee, Meru, Capstone, etc were the prominent companies for the final placement. 100% placement was achieved for the HR specialization.

Students sit for their Summer placements from the 2nd Trimester onwards. NM has a trimester system. A total of 181 companies visited the campus for the Summers of 2020-22 batch. 28 of them were from Fortune 500 companies and 90 new recruits. The total number of offers made was roughly 650-700 and still counting. The highest stipend was 3 lakhs and the average stood at 1.2 lakhs. Top 50 offers clocked an average of 2.48 lakhs. The different profiles for which the companies came were IT analytics, Consulting, E-commerce, BFSI, FMCG, FMCD, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Media & Telecom, Logistics, oil, and gas, etc. NMIMS Mum has 100% placement records. After doing my MBA I plan to go back to Corporate and learn and implement at the workplace. Thereby have self-growth and also bring revenues to the company.

They do have a placement committee. Most of my classmates are already placed at top-notch brands and agencies through the placement cell. Post 9 months, we have to do a mandatory internship to get hands-on experience of the industry life and work culture.

Admission:

Candidates get admission through an online form or offline as well. But would suggest for the online application. The basic documents requirement are mark sheets of x and xii ,eligibility certificate and caste certificate if required by any candidate. The course duration is of 2 years. The candidate is eligible if he/she has done bachelors with 50% marks from any recognized university. The course deals in lots of disciplines like HR, Marketing ,Finance etc the candidate can enroll according to their choices.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very good in the college as they try and place maximum of their students in the best of the companies with good deals. 80% of the students definitely do get placed and they are quite satisfaction and happy with the job. The renowned company do come and recruit the students.
