Remarks :
Pillai college of Architecture is a great college great campus great faculty i absolutely and a ball and learnt everything i had to.
Entrance Preview :
Entrance exam: NATA. I wanted a Creative field but i could not channel the creativity in a particular direction and architecture allows you to explore every form of art along with science.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Well when we joined the course we had a yearly system where we have a final exam and project jury reviews at the end of the year. so this gave us ample amount of exam less free time to explore various fields like art and construction and taking part in competitions etc. But currently i guess they introduced the semester system which is kind of hectic cause u have an exam in the middle f the year and then at the end again and then if u get a kt u will be busy even between the exams which is not good for a creative field since u will be spending your time preparing for exams instead f exploring the field.
Internships Opportunities :
unfortunately when i was in college we did not have any internship program , but we learnt a lot and we were a creative batch so luckily most of us got a smooth go ahead in terms f getting a job.
Placement Experience :
well as i mentioned there were no placements for our batch so i cannot comment on this. But i did get a good job after the 5 year course which does not mean my college sucks but thanks to the college i loved my profession and this helped me get a great job and kept my passion alive as an architect.
College Events :
I myself was the cultural sec. for my college and I was actively participating everywhere . in our architecture department we were always open to events all round the year like , wall painting , construction workshops, cultural competitions, college tours around India, photography , videography competitions etc. so this we were allowed to explore everything related to our field and was very student oriented and then we also have the campus fest which is ALEGRIA. which in my eyes is a very commercial thing with celebrities and international DJ's which i personally dont enjoy .. i find this fest a total waste of time sorry
Fee Structure And Facilities :
during my year it was feasible for the first 2 years but it definitely took an uphill for the rest of our 3 years. we did question this but our principal too had his hands up since it is not upto him also Architecture is not only about college fees we do have other expenses like drawing material and model making material which is always expensive
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes ! definitely . luckily i was a good student and my college offered me college scholarship but it has limited number so only the best of the students get through
Campus Life :
yes campus life was great , our college is located by a river and near the mountains of panvel so we had an amazing view from every studio which perfectly inspired us and influenced us during college and i loved spending time in college . our campus is designed beautifully with courtyards which constantly have events in them . gender ratio is pretty average .. architecture had its fair amount of girls and boys our profession has nothing to do with any particular gender domination. Also our campus also has a synthetic basketball and futsal turf a large football ground and we are absolutely lucky to have all this open area . as i said our campus festival is the one that organised inter college events in each and every field which is great
Hostel Facilities :
I am lucky to be staying in the same city as my college with only 1 hr of traveling so i never stayed in any hostel . also our college hostel was under construction when i was in college but it is up and ready by now. our college food is good we had a clean and open kitchen , a variety of food and clean staff and equipment
Alumni/Alumna :
yes i myself am a proud alumni . we have a strong bond with all seniors and ex students since architecture is a course that allows us to explore vertically with all experienced professionals too . ur alumni loves our college and we also often have alumni events to review their work and opportunities .. also our alumni organises a public fest called MINDSCAPE in navi mumbai which allows us and anyone to enjoy an evening of ideas and meet with them
Exam Structure :
oh so unlike other college courses we do have exams but the course is very subjective to have right and wrong answers. Yes theory of structures is the only technical maths subject which we all struggled to get through. But i enjoy juries and panel discussion over design. it is a great way to get a view from a new professionals.
Admission :
I got in through merit. i scored an average in 12th but i scored really good in my NATA exam. So ya in the form i was aiming for best colleges in Navi Mumbai to save travel time and yes Pillai Seemed to be an amazing campus to explore and it had all other fields so i thought this would help me in my own field too.
Faculty :
Oh my college had a mixed bag which is good i must say we definitely need all kind of people to get a view f the field from everyone's pint of view. we had some dedicated professors would would go all out to be one with the students and this is the kind f people we need to learn new things
