HIMT THE WAY TO REACH SHIP

Course Curriculum Overview :

From childhood itself, I want to become a mariner. And I love to work with engines. So I decided to study this course and then I joined this college. HIMT faculties are knowledgeable, helpful in clearing doubts, and very helpful to us. They always used to share their experiences with us which is making the excitement of industry. Teaching methods will be always both technical theoretical, and practical. Monthly once the exam will be there. The questions are only answerable to understand and beyond the book .so the teachings will also be similar to that.

Internships Opportunities :

Inside the campus VR (virtual reality) and sic(ship in campus) through these facilities, we can learn everything as same as ship structure. Projects are made by the students. The faculty always help the cadets to make it to help the shipping industry.

Placement Experience :

Placements are available for the cadets at any time of their training time. In my batch, almost 90% of students are placed at good companies at various times. Most probably all the students will get their Placement during their course time.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yearly 300000 which include all college fee, hostel fee, book fee, miscellaneous, etc. The college provides placement assistance. Many leading companies in the shipping industry are the recruiters of the college. Almost 80% of cadets get placed before the end of their course. Sports meet, cultural , etc. are always there for the students.

Campus Life :

College life at HIMT COLLEGE is different from other colleges .every year the Passing out celebration for final years and a tech meet called technovation in HIMT. Are the annual fests and tech fests. Vast library with many books, Air conditioned classrooms, Inter and intra colleges sports and cultural.

Hostel Facilities :

Neat and clean vast hostel room. 1 room for 4 persons which includes 4 beds and mattresses. Attached bathroom and toilet. Specific cupboards for each person's study table. Menus are created by the students only. Taste wise all foods are excellent. It's a 100%Residencial course. So hostel Registration is included with course admission.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
