Remarks :
Eligibility requirements are a 10th grade pass with 40% overall and 40% in English. Visit the college website at www.himtcollege.com for an application form, fees, and dates. There are no reservation advantages. I want one improvement in admission so that rather than taking a small interview, first they take an exam and then interview.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose GP rating because it is a very good course for joining the merchant navy because it teaches you not only theoretically but also practically about the ship, its parts, machinery, and working principles. Most facilities are retired captains, engineers, and officers and have good sailing experience and knowledge. The test was conducted in two parts—an online multiple-choice type and practicals. The toughness of the exam is average.
Internships Opportunities :
Actually, in the Maritime course, no company gives internship; they give only sponsorship and placement to cadets. Once they complete their course, they have to submit all their documents to the company, then medical, and then they join the ship.
Placement Experience :
From the 5th semester, we are eligible for placement. Most top companies, such as PIL, MOL, Synergy, Seaspan, MSC, and BSM, are coming for placement. Approximately 60% of students get placement. Not for GP rating, only for cadets.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is 180000, which includes lodging, food, and clothing. The fee of our college compared to other maritime institutes is less. In my opinion, the fee for a 6 month GP rating course is too high. There are no scholarships available for merchant navy courses, and job opportunities are limited.
Campus Life :
Passing out parade every 6 months, God of the owner every month. Every two months, there is a Sport Fest. All the book and journal related to ships is there in the library but timing is 9 to 5 only on working days of college In maritime institute no social group and clubs
Hostel Facilities :
In room 4, four boys are staying with a single fan, four lockers and an extra locker are also there, and a table with good light arrangements but only two chairs. The meal quality is good but the menu is South Indian and not spicy.
