Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Energy Engineering at IIT Delhi due to its good course curriculum. It is somewhat related to Electrical & Mechanical with more focus on Renewable Energy. Faculty Members are of friendly nature and help with any academic or non-academic problems. One of the prof. Ramesh Narayanan who is a B.Tech coordinator who also takes 2 of our courses is one who helps us out with most of our academic problems. Most of our faculty are Ph.D. in different fields of energy, power system, and electrical. There are 3 exams, 2 Minor and 1 major exam. Exams are pretty difficult but can be done well through regular studies.
Internships Opportunities
There are enough Internship opportunities available at IIT Delhi. Many companies come to IIT Delhi for internships across all fields including IT consultancy finance quant and many more. Most companies prefer a good CGPA for internships and good projects under professors.
Placement Experience
Students here in IIT Delhi are eligible for Intern in the 3rd year and hiring intern companies comes at the start of our 5th semester. For Placement, companies come at the end of the 7th semester. OCS handles the placement & internship drive at the campus. With over 600+ companies visiting IIT Delhi is the best college in terms of employability in India and 36th in the world. Personally, my plan is to go into consultancy after my graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure varies on the annual income of parents. For me per semester tuition fees are around 120000 excluding mess and hostel fees. Scholarships are available in institutes that are provided by alumni of the Institute for branches specifically. Energy doesn't have a branch-specific scholarship as our branch is new.
Campus Life
Campus life at IIT DELHI is pretty amazing with the campus situated in the city itself. Surrounded by SDA Market and Haus Khas Village. There are many clubs in the institute and students pursue whatever they want to and are interested in. I personally involved in Photography & Films club as photography is my hobby. IIT DELHI also hosts Asia's Largest Cultural fest, Rendezvous which is a masterpiece in itself.
Admission
Admission to IIT Delhi is from the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) after JEE Mains. The application form is open after the declaration of Jee Mains's result and the application fee is around 2800. The admission process is transparent and good, I don't think any improvement is needed.
