Course Curriculum Overview :

XIMB is known for its course curriculum and academic rigour. XIMB offers a wide range of electives to choose from across several domains. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:12. The course curriculum is regularly updated based on industry trends and requirements. The faculty at XIMB are highly qualified with a high degree of industry experience. The teaching method is at the discretion of the faculty but centrally revolves around practical application-based learning. The exams are held on time based on the academic calendar provided at the beginning of each term. The scenario of a student failing is quite unlikely.

Internships Opportunities :

Various prominent recruiters visit the campus to provide internship opportunities to first-year students. Roles offered are in the domain of marketing, finance, operations, systems and consulting. The highest stipend offered was 3.5 lacs and the average stipend was 1.7 lacs.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible to apply for final placements from the 4th term. XIMB achieves 100% placement each year. 71 companies visited this year which included 26 new recruiters. This included prominent recruiters offering jobs in various roles of marketing, consulting, finance and operations domains. The highest domestic salary stood at 71.51 LPA and the average salary was 20.03 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The overall fee is approximately 110000 per year. There is a fee hike every year. As it is a non-metro city, the cost of living and the cost of studying is not very high. The hostel fees are somewhat on the higher side.

Campus Life :

Life at the campus is quite happening and hectic at the same time. The annual fest named Xpressions was held in the month of January. All kinds of academic books are available at the library. The classrooms are quite comfortable and are fully air-conditioned. Various sports facilities(both indoor and outdoor) are available on campus.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are available in single/double/triple occupancy. A single room costs around 52000/year. Basic amenities like a bed, desk, chair and fan are provided. Rest items can be procured from nearby stores based on the requirements. The meal quality was not very good initially but is improving gradually.

Admission :

One can apply to XIMB through multiple entrance tests like CAT/XAT/XGMT. The cutoff depends on several factors like prior work ex, undergrad marks etc. There are reservations available to domicile candidates. If the cutoff is cleared, it will be followed by a GD/PI. Based on the cumulative score, the final results are declared.

Interview Experience :

I first appeared for the CAT exam followed by a PI round. The PI round focused mainly on computer science concepts as I graduated in that domain and some general awareness questions. Some behaviour-related questions followed this.
