- I like the accessibility of the University as it is located in the main city itself directly in front the railway station.
- Opportunities it provides to the students.
Dislikes
- Exam results are too late that sometimes it doesn't allow students to take admission in other universities during their final year.
- The campus is divided in many parts in the main city itself
Course Curriculum Overview :
To be honest, the Botany Department of our University, our department according to to be is the most peaceful on the entire campus. It is because the faculty is very good and supportive. All the professors and Assistant Professors are highly educated with doctorate degrees from reputed Universities and they are well-experienced in their field. It feels nice to be with them on my journey. They are good mentors. They show proper manners when they are with their students. Very well disciplined. And secondly, our department is a little away from the main campus and it is situated in a beautiful scenario. The department has a garden with so many flowers and botanical plants which makes it unique on its own. Better to visit our department during winter. Too beautiful! And lastly, about the term exams, we give 3 semesters in a year. Thats upsetting! But it has its significance. But as it is a govt. Institute you can't expect more resources from the department.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
At most, it will take you Rs.8000 a year for the academic course. Hostel fees along with books and study materials are excluded. Which I think is convenient and affordable. Far far better than other colleges and universities. The University has its name in the entire region and you need only Rs. 8000 at most to study here. And for students having a financially weak family background, they provide you with the fee waiver process which is a type of scholarship. It reduces most of the fee charges.
Campus Life :
Infrastructure is good but not so well developed in other departments but in Botany, we have good infrastructure only a few classrooms are medium in infrastructure because those are the old classrooms. Overall our department is beautiful. We have our library for the department I guess almost every department has its own. A central library for every student. The main campus infrastructure is very good because new buildings are being constructed for improvement in every field. Classrooms in our department have projectors in them. There are many labs for practical work. And talking about the fests and events on campus, it is a common thing for everyone now. There are so many events happening every week and sometimes every day. Annual diversity weeks are there where sports competitions cultural etc. many things take place.
Admission :
In the case of Cotton University, there is no Entrance Exam. Your selection is completely based on your 12th class Percentage. There are reservation systems based on caste. If you are SC ST EWS or OBC or any other category with disabled included, there is a reservation system, particularly for them. There is also a fee waiver system which is very helpful for those with economically weaker backgrounds who are financially weak. They will take comparatively less money from you than the others. As this is a prestigious government University, only students having a very good percentage are taken into admission. And, compared to other private universities, the fees are very very low and affordable even without any reservations or fee waivers. The admission forms are available in the University portal only during the time of admission. It is previously notified on the official website. Better to be alert from before if you are interested.
Other Applied Colleges
Chandigarh Group of Colleges - [CGC] Landran | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)
The price of the course and the hostel was too high. They show one amount during your admission and increase it after taking admission. They take many extra money from the students after the admission which is not mentioned in the total fees before admiss
