Course Curriculum Overview :
I have an economics background, so I thought pursuing an MBA would broaden my career prospects. So I'm pursuing this course. The number of faculty on the campus is 43 and the number of students intake is 410. This makes the faculty: student ratio 1:10 approximately. The faculty are very qualified with doctorates from esteemed IIMs and IITs. The course curriculum is case-based and the faculty teaches the concepts through various case discussions. The exams are always conducted on time and they are comparatively very difficult to pass.
Internships Opportunities :
The summer Internships are handled by the placement team and the placement preparation team helps the students in preparing for the interviews. The process usually starts in term 1 and ends after the entire batch gets placed. More than 100 companies visit the campus for summer placements. The roles offered are very dynamic and are majorly from the marketing domain followed by finance and operations. As I'm still in my first year, I haven't completed my internship, hence the projects and the outcomes of the project cannot be mentioned.
Placement Experience :
The placements team handles the placements of the college. The students are eligible for the summer placements from term 1 itself. More than 100+ companies visit the campus for placements. Due to the placement team rules, the names of the companies and the number of offers they made cannot be disclosed. The average package for the final placements is around 18 lakhs CTC per annum. Almost 100% of the students get placed during both summer Internships and the final placements. My plan after the degree is to work for an MNC in a marketing role.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee is 18 lakhs for 2 years. This includes various fees like tuition fees, mess fees, hostel fees, and exam fees. 2-3 lakhs might increase the fees in the coming years. The fee hike policy is usually handled by the admin department and it is not disclosed to anybody. The bank on the campus and various other banks provide collateral-free loans to the students joining in IIMs. Also, the college provides scholarships to the batch toppers at the end of the first year.
Campus Life :
Life on campus is very thrilling. The Annual fest of the college Dhruva is conducted at the end of January. The college also conducts a leadership conclave Daksha in the month of September and a business conclave in the month of November. The college has the best library in the country. It has all the latest books, journals, and research articles. The amenities in the classrooms are too good. The classes are designed based on the Harvard classroom design and it has all the facilities like AC, Projectors, etc. The college is known for its best sports facilities. It has a ground or court for all the sports and the college also has a swimming pool with a jacuzzi.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are not upto the mark. The rooms are congested due to twin sharing, The rooms have AC, bunk bed, white board, almirah and cupboards. The mess food is pathetic. It is tasteless most of the days. The registration process for the hostels usually take place during the time of admission. The hostels have 24x7 water and electricity. The hostels are very well monitored and secured.
Admission :
The course eligibility is 50+ percentage in 10th, 12th, and Graduation. The application form for the CAT can be found on their website and the application fees is 2000. The cut-off for general category students is 92+ overall percentile and 70+ percentile in all the 3 sections of CAT. I haven't attained any reservation benefits. After the CAT the CAP committee sends an application to all the eligible candidates. The candidates will go through a GD/WAT and PI process post which the admissions will be rolled out.
Interview Experience :
Due to the pandemic the GD and WAT weren't conducted for our batch. The Personal Interview was conducted. Most of the questions in the personal interview revolve around the tell me about yourself. How efficiently we answer that questions makes and breaks our chance of clearing the interview. The interviewer majorly focuses on the CV, questions about the current affairs, questions from the undergraduate, hobbies and interests of the students etc.
