Remarks :
College Management is good, but the thing is it would be better if area of surrounding would be good. Although it doesn't matter but surrounding is the only flaw this college has.
Entrance Preview :
For getting admission at MA Mass Communication, you just have to qualify the entrance examination. Entrance Exam is not very tough, you just have to know about the basic things related to course and general knowledge. It is necessary if you keep basic knowledge about equipment related to the media, so at the time of examination if the question related media occurs, you will have something to tell about.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course Structure is very good. Being a media student I got subject related to each and every media field. I had Public Relations, Advertising, Videography, Video Editing, Film Studies, Print Media, etc. Even I had subjects related to my interest like, Cinematography/ TV production (Theory and Practical both). Here you will get the chance of representing yourself as a photography club member, Theatre club member. Etc
Internships Opportunities :
College provides internship, some of the students got 5k to 10k as their monthly stipend. Companies like Hindustan Times, Antara, Ashura Hotel Chains, etc came and hired people
Placement Experience :
Placement is very good in the organization, CDC department helps you in development of your skills and call recruitment companies time to time to hire you. Package are also good, some of the packages went up to 24lacs per annum. College has a good reputation in the field so if you do your post grad or grad from this college, you make a great image for yourself too. Even if you don't take on campus placement, during off campus job search you will have good benefit because of the reputation of the college.
College Events :
We celebrated more events than any other college in whole Dehradun. And level of events are very high, College invite celebrities during manifest, students get a chance of expressing the love at prom night. Some main events organized by the college are as following :- 1- Prom Night 2- Halloween Night 3- Manfest 4- Fresher's party 5- Farewell 6- Sports meet 7- State level football competition. 8- Intra college cricket and football match ETC. Overall here you will get lot of chances to show your skills. you can be a photographer, director of short movies or cinematography, script writer, news writers etc. College organize fashion shows, theatres etc. too.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is less expensive than many mass communication colleges, if you compare the fee structure than other private mass communication college you will find that DBS is less expensive. You have options to pay semester wise or annual fee at once. Once you pay the annual fee you get discount comparatively semester fee. Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College accepts the proposal if you're studying on a study loan. College will first verify and send the approval to the banks and all the information bank will ask for approving and passing the loan amount. College will properly coordinate with the bank and will inform them about the whole fee structure and any other study related expenses, student will have to pay.
Campus Life :
: Campus life is very good there, you will have badminton court, cricket field, football ground, pool table, media labs, IT labs, a big library, greenery and a very good environment. Hence, it's in the outer area of city, so you find the environment more peaceful. In city you have lot of options to enjoy. 50 km. is the distance between college and Mussorie the queen of hills. Weather of Dehradun make it more alluring. You enjoy more beautiful views each day of your life you spend at Dehradun.
Hostel Facilities :
To be honest Hostel has good facilities, but during my stay in hostel I was not satisfied with food even not only me everyone had issue with the quality of the food hostel served. but we complained about it in the hostel committee and coordinated with hostel in charge, we informed him about the issue and the problem was solved very soon.
Alumni/Alumna :
Our Seniors were amazing, I am still in touch with them and they guided me a lot. Best thing is we worked with our seniors too, you will get that chance with your seniors too, which will be helpful for building a healthy relation with you and your seniors.
Exam Structure :
Exams have a very good pattern, because of the less theory subjects and more practical subjects, exams are not a burden here. you give internals and externals only. In practical you do two projects, one project each semester of the final year. Hence, practical are media related, so I feel it will be fun to do practical, even I enjoyed practical a lot, you get lot of chance to shoot things with your camera, you enjoy your work, you get the chance of showcasing your skills. More work you do more chance you get.
Admission :
1- I filled an online form. 2- I paid the registration fee. 3- Than got a call for the interview. 4- short listed after a short test and personal interview at venue near my home city. 5- Got a call and mail with details of joining the orientation classes.
Faculty :
All faculties are experts in their respective field, and the best thing is that they pay you personal attention. Faculties are young and passionate about their work. They guide you like a mentor and solve your problems like a friend. With such great faculties you will get lot of exposure to showcase your talent and skills. and also it will be very helpful for your personality and skills development
