Remarks :
One can get admission into CIT, kokrajhar in two ways- 1) Through JEE mains Score. 2) Through CIT's entrance exam. The application can be filled out online at www.cit.ac.in. There are reservations for BTAD residentials and NE states.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is by the guidelines of AICTE, as this is a CFTI under MHRD. The faculty-student ratio is quite good and most if not all faculties are highly qualified. Examinations are held timely and I would say the difficulty level of the exams is moderate to difficult.
Internships Opportunities :
There are no paid internships till now but you will get many opportunities to get unpaid internships. I did an internship for NEILIT on Blockchain development. My project was " An incentive-based IoT data sharing using Blockchain"
Placement Experience :
Students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Placements are very less, only maybe around 5-10% of students get on-campus placements. The package ranges from 3.5 to 10 LPA. My plan after getting the degree is to get an off-campus placement.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is much less compared to IITs, NITs, and private engineering colleges. Although you will get all the facilities available in top-tier engineering colleges. The tuition fees are waived off for ST/SC students. Starting from 2019 EWS category students' tuition fees are also being waived off.
Campus Life :
There are two main fests organized at CIT. One cultural fest (Ecstasy) was held from February - march. And one technical fest (Techracy) is held in the month of October-November. There are many activities to do as extracurricular activities you could join the various clubs in CIT, like Robotics club, coding club, cybersecurity club, drama club, astronomy club, etc. Also for sports people, there are basketball courts, tennis courts, football fields, cricket fields, etc
Hostel Facilities :
A room in the on-campus hostel will contain a bed, a chair, a table, a cupboard, and a LAN port. Two students share one room. Overall the hostels are really good and well maintained. However the hostel mess food is not very good, you will find students eating out mostly.
