Remarks :
1. Good faculty but you need to put extra effort to get knowledge from them as they teach you specific to university exams. 2. Level of technical fest is good, you meet really good coders and can learn a lot from them. 3. Placement for computer science is good not for other core branches.
Entrance Preview :
Entrance Exam - UPSEE Why I opted - Best placement among all private colleges in Kanpur. After UPSEE results I went for UPTU counseling with Demand draft and all required documents mentioned in mail. There I in online seat allocation I filled for Computer science and engineering as my choice. Results of seat allotment were declared after 3 weeks and I was allotted a seat in the college. With print out of allotment result I went to college paid the fee and took admission in B.tech CSE
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum was Kanpur and schedule was tightly packed. Starting from first year we had theory and practicals that was the monitored by our HOD. We were free to reach out to our counseling for any kind of concerns. The lab assignments level has a scope of improvement and can be made to a level of assignments that companies ask in technical interviews. In final year we had placement preparation sessions by our HR Head which was vital in filling our knowledge gap.
Internships Opportunities :
No, the college does not provide internship, but in case you are interested in any kind of internship you can independently. The stipend offered in such case would completely depend upon the organization you choose for .
Placement Experience :
Placement and job opportunities are good for Computer science as mostly the indian service based companies visit. Regarding core branches I do not have idea of current scenario.You can get in touch with some recent pass out for that. Also id you are a defense enthusiast, you may get chance to apply for Army, Air Force and Navy as part of University Entry Scheme.
College Events :
Ignitia is main technical fest of the college. Its a grand fest that spans 3 days. We have technical competitions, prize distributions for extra ordinary performers and cultural events planned. The participation is huge and students from various colleges including IIT K, KIT, MPCIT etc participate. Often the cultural events are followed by performance of any celebrity like Kuma Viswas, Shelly Setia etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is plain and simple. They closely follow the structure given by GBTU, and fee can be submitted in cash or Demand Draft. Also there are some extra charges for final year students as they organize special sessions for the placement preparations.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is a SBI branch opened inside the college campus. So you can avail loan facility from their and you can get more about the conditions and procedure by visiting the same.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio is good. There are lot of extra curricular activities that you can participate in. Robotics competition happens in tech fest. There are frequent workshops on Ethical Hacking, Robotics and cloud computing that are available for the students.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels room in 2013 were given on sharing basis, not sure about current scenario. Rates were pretty costly as compared to the other colleges. But the rooms are spacious. They provide decent hostel facility but if you are a hostellers forget about bunking the classes, the warden will pull you out of your room. Food is not very tasty not very bad.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network is decent. Having worked for over 3 years in IT, I can say that students from the college are present in most of the big companies across various verticals. Also college organizes regular alumini meet that are really helpful to maintain strong bond between seniors and juniors.
Exam Structure :
Exam structure is not very strict. But you need to be ready for surprise tests. You will have 3 class Tests, 2 practical, 3 midterm, 1 pre university and one final university exam per subject per semester. The test level is moderate and core text books and previous year papers can be useful for these.
Admission :
After my 12th I appeared for UPSEE, got a decent rank and opted for this college as I had to look college in my city due to personal reasons.
Faculty :
Faculty of the college was overall good. They have started hiring faculties from colleges like IIT K, IIIT Allahabad, MNNIT Allahabad and HBTI etc. We also had faculties having masters from abroad who were subject matter expert in their field of study.
