Remarks
The entire college experience was life changing for me. Although many might not be in regular touch, we still share a bond and some amazing memories of the college.
Entrance Preview
Since I was selected from NRI quota, there was no entrance exam for me. I just had to attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. I chose this college because it offered the course I wanted to pursue and Symbiosis is a well-known college for MBA and many other courses.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is vast as there were 14 subjects in 1 semester. The college can definitely improve on the course curriculum. Since the majority of the students come from work experience background, they look for more case study based education. The college can definitely reduce the number of subjects per semester and change the course curriculum by providing choices of subjects.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, my college provides internships and the stipend can range from 30k to 40k per month, depending on the company.
Placement Experience
The placements are decent, depending on the market scenario. During my time, finance students were placed better as compared to marketing as the markets went down in depression during that year. There are many big brands which come each year for placements.
College Events
College used to hold many events like Leadership Series where executives from top companies were invited to talk to us. It was a truly encouraging experience. Besides that, the college used to hold the annual fest. Apart from this, many other events used to take place in the college from time to time.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was feasible, but since many were working they used to take a loan as well. Since I came in from NRI quota, the fees were little higher as compared to the general quota students. However, the college provides loan facilities as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college provides loan facilities and scholarship facilities as well. Since I came from NRI Quota, I am not aware of the exact loan or scholarship facilities the college provides. But, many of my friends had taken up hence I am aware that the college provides them.
Campus Life
The campus life is highly active and there is something or the other going on. There is a gym, swimming pool, table tennis and many other sports activities at the campus. There is a small departmental store for all the needs of the students. There are eating stalls also available.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities were good and clean. For the ladies, there is a parlour in the hostel itself, hence no need to run around for grooming. This was a major advantage of the college hostel. There are guest rooms as well for parents who are visiting their kids. The warden used to keep a track of the students from time to time. The mess food was not helpful but improved in the later semesters.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network can become stronger as the college had started an annual meet to gather all the alumni and build a strong network. This will also help in college placements.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was extremely hectic and we sometimes had 3 exams per day. There is only one practical that is for Computers. The exams can be taken anytime by the faculty during the semester hence missing a class became really risky. The exams taken in the class were added up in the final which would decide on the rank of the student.
Admission
The admission process was smooth and hassle free. Once I gave the Group Discussion and Personal Interview, a list was generated after a few days. I came down to Pune for counseling and document verification. The same day the college allotted the seat and confirmed my admission.
Faculty
The college has great faculty who come from different background and rich knowledge. There were many guest lecturers as well who shared their industry knowledge with us. All the faculties that taught us were extremely enthusiastic to teach and make our concepts clear.
