Course Curriculum Overview :

As computer science is demanding I have chosen the subject. As the college is under BPUT, the syllabus is followed accordingly. The faculties are good and well qualified. The teaching is industry-oriented. The student-teacher ratio is 15:1. It is not that difficult to pass but one has to work sincerely and attend the classes regularly to pass.

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 95000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS are providing regular internships, in core branch JSW, Aryan Ispet, Rourkela Steel plant also provides internships, Projects on artificial intelligence, and renewable energy are ongoing.

Placement Experience :

From the 6th semester students are eligible. All the big companies are coming to campus which can be found on our website www.silicon.ac.in. Till now the highest package is 7.5 lakhs and the average package is 4.8 lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Recently the fee is hiked after 5 years for the upcoming batch 2022. The cost of the study is not much in comparison to other colleges. The students can get different scholarships like emedhabruti floated by Odisha government, Bihar Scholarships by Bihar Government, Prerana scholarships by Odisha government, Kalyan scholarships by Jharkhand government,post-matric scholarships by Odisha government, Institute scholarships for the highest ranking, etc. This year around 60 companies visited the campus and already 96% of placement has been achieved by the Institute.

Campus Life :

The annual fest and tech fest are conducted in the month of February each year. Apart from study books and materials, the library is rich in magazines, and journals. The classrooms are well equipped with projectors and whiteboards.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel rooms are spacious. Some ac rooms are provided on demand. The quality of food is good. There are student-driven menus in the mess. Hostels are there for all the students. The boy's hostel capacity is 800 and the girl's hostel capacity is 600.

Hostel Fee : INR 35300 per year

KIIT- The Real Truth Of College

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is similar to all the colleges. but the extra curricular facilities provided by the college, differen societies present in differen domain will help you in growing your skills and knowledge in your sector. College keep organising tech fest, alumini meet, and global awareness meeting to keep the students up to date with present world. Course curriculum can be improved, I personally think, many new elective subjects are added which are not beneficial for my stream CSE.And the attendace is very compulsury for getting ood marks. Smart Boards and White Board teaching ares used which depends on teacher's choice. There is normally two exams in a semester , midsem of 20 marks in time 1hr 30 min, and endsem exam of 50 marks in 3 hr, and the rest marks depend on subject faculty. Mostly examination level is normal , if you are good student you can cover the syllabus in 1 week before exam.

Good facilities that needs to be grabbed.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario for now it not that good. There is regression going on so the companies aren't taking that many students. From the 3rd year you are eligible for placements. 450 companies came this year for placements making 5200 job offers. The highest placement this year was 63 lacs by Yugabyte. Average CTC is 8.5 lacs in all streams. Mass recruiters like Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Mindtree, Bosch, Ericsson, IBM etc. Many other notable companies that visited are Bain & Company, CME group, DE shaw & co, JP Morgan Chase etc. According to kiit website, 90% students are placed. 2100 students also got internships via capstone route. My plans after getting the degree is to do a job for some years and then after getting some experience I want to do a startup.
