Remarks :
The CAT test kicked off the application procedure. The application forms may be found on the official iim website everywhere, and the application price was Rs 1500. We needed to take the exam and pass it before the deadline. That year, the threshold was 80 percentile, and I scored 89.67 , which was above the cutoff. Following that, we had a panel of 12 students participate in a case discussion. We were given a total of 20 minutes to speak about the subject. Social media a boom or bain was the chosen topic. We had a personal interview after that, and then the results were released.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This course appealed to me since it offers us fantastic learning chances and exposure. The school of business management has roughly 170 students and 30 faculty members. The majority of the professors have earned or are working toward a PhD. Different faculties use different techniques for reviewing; some use quizzes, some use assignments, others use viva, and still others rely on written submissions or presentations, and the difficulty varies by subject. Every lesson, quiz, test, and holiday is based on a timetable that is presented at the beginning of the trimester.
Internships Opportunities :
Almost all the big companies come to the college from Consultant, BFSI, FMCG, FMCD, Education, etc. Companies like Google, Microsoft, bain, PWC, Asian paints, Airtel, and all the banks like IDFC, ICICI, HSBC, HDFC visit the campus providing us with ample opportunities across various domains. I interened with BCN where I got a stipend of 35000 per month.
Placement Experience :
Following their first year, students must complete a mandated two-month internship, after which they are eligible for final placements after the fourth trimester. This year, over 150 firms came to campus, and there is a rigorous guideline of only one offer per student. The highest package provided on campus was 28 LPA, with an average package of 13.6 LPA this year. 95 percent of students are placed on campus, with the other 5% opting out for sabbaticals, additional education, or to establish their own business.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees for MBA Core students totaled INR 1514600, with 701300 paid in the first year and 803000 paid in the second. Every year, the costs increase by 0.5 to 1%. Only a few scholarships are available based purely on the CAT score and few of the reservation basis. The college offers a variety of financial aid options, including a variety of bank loans. The college's affiliated banks provide interest rates ranging from 7% to 12%.
Campus Life :
Rubaroo is Great Lakes Chennai's annual cultural festival, in which renowned celebrities are invited and students from all across India compete for awards. Every year in March, it is held. Apart from the traditional library, the college also offers an electronic library with e-books and other subscriptions to mint, statista, and other companies. The classrooms are equipped with stairwell seats, air conditioning, whiteboards, projectors, and enough lighting and fans. Cultural, marketing, financial, HR, operations, and sports activities are all held throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities :
The college provided us with hostel accomodation where we gt a residential campus. The mess was included in the total hostel fees. We used to get 4 meals a day, morning breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Hostel was compulsory for each and every student so that the faculties can ask for classes at any point of the day.
Interview Experience :
The CAT examination, a multiple-choice exam, was the first step in the process. The three components were verbal ability, numerical aptitude, and logical reasoning. The test took two hours to complete and had a maximum score of 100 percentile. Following the announcement of the exam results, the selected students had a case discussion. We were given 20 minutes to present our points, while the panel was given 12 minutes. Following a heated discussion, each of us was asked to say a few final remarks. Following that, we had a personal interview during which I was asked a few basic hygiene questions, as well as questions about my job experience and graduation profile.
