Remarks :
One of my college seniors highly recommended that I apply here because of the fact that it offers a personalised learning environment as well as value-added services such as industrial visits, guest lecturers, frequent workshops etc. For admission, I duly provided all information in the online application form and submitted it offline via mail along with a Demand draft of Rs 1000.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Our highly trained and experienced faculty members provides an immersive learning environment and encourage all of us to participate all at once. We mostly have discussions on real-life business case studies which helps us to better understand the concepts and acquire practical skills. The MBA program accredited by the NBA covers all the basic management theories and also helps us to develop techniques and practices to meet current business challenges.
Internships Opportunities :
During the summer I interned with the Business Development team at Hyundai and learned a lot about the field. I also learned a lot of skills like Negotiation, Good Communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills etc. It was an unpaid internship.
Placement Experience :
Almost 90% of my seniors got job offers through campus placements conducted by my University. The average CTC offered to them was around Rs 7 - 8 lakhs per annum. Some of the top recruiting companies that visited our campus are Accenture, Oracle, Aditya Birla, Ey India, General Electric, Havells India, Goldman Sachs, HDFC, HSBC etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure for MBA program at BMS College of Engineering is Rs 25,300 per annum. But I had to pay separately for all other costs like library fees, examination fees, fees for attending seminars, workshops or industry visits but they were also quite affordable. There are very limited scholarships available usually by external organisations. The University only offers financial aid in very special cases.
Campus Life :
The main event for our department is the inter-collegiate event ÔQuestÕ organised completely by us. Apart from the University student Union also organises the annual BMSCE Utsav for two days - participated and attended by the whole college. There are also a few clubs like the Photography club, Rotaract club, Mountaineering club etc.
Hostel Facilities :
I chose to stay on my own as I prefer a bit of privacy. Hence with the help of the student union, I managed to find a flat of my own which is just 30 minutes away. It helps me save on time and transportation. I pay a rent of Rs 5000 and around Rs 2000 for gas and electricity. However, some of my friends who live in hostel has had a fairly good experience. According to them the rooms are clean and the food in the mess is good.
