Remarks :

I have been studying here since my Graduation. This is one of the best Govt. University for Fine and Performing arts. Completed my Masters. This University is of International acclaim and the most important University for performing arts after Viswabharati University in India

Course Curriculum Overview :

The syllabus are well designed to get proper exposure in Western as well as Indian Classical Music. We were not provided with any Industrial exposure. Faculties are okayish. Mostly guest lecturers. Debashish Mondal was the best faculty member

College Events :

Being a University of performing arts, our University celebrates almost all festivals with cultural grandeur. Apart from that, the University organises seminars and programs throughout the year which are uncountable.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

You donâ??t need loan to study in this university as it is a Government University. But you can opt for Swami Vivekananda Means and Merit Scholarship sponsored by the West Bengal State Govt for all your studies from Graduation to PhD. You need to score 60%.

Campus Life :

University is situated in a huge area in Kolkata, All branches have different buildings. We have access to hi speed internet and wifi. A huge library. A good sports infrastructure and also labs are available.

Hostel Facilities :

I havenâ??t taken any hostel as my home is near to the university but I have visited the hostels which are actually like guest houses. Very limited seats are available with all modern facilities including free University wifi. The average rental is highly cheap around just â?¹200 plus some extra charges.

Hostel Fee : INR 3000 per year

From 3rd year students are eligible for campus placement. Companies including Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc. have visited here with an average of 6 lakhs per annum offered. The highest package was 31 lakh from Amazon. Almost everyone gets placement here but a very low package. I plan to get an off-campus placement after getting the degree.

Good Placements

Placement Experience:

We become eligible from the later part of the third year to sit for the placements as the companies arrive then. Mainly placements are dependent on service-based companies like TCS, CTS, Wipro e.t.c. who mass recruits a whole lot of students with standard 3.5 to 4 LPA packages. Product-based companies like Oracle, Amazon, and trilogy too visited the campus. Oracle recruited a few of the candidates, Amazon too but nobody could clear the trilogy's OA rounds. Oracle offered a package of 15lpa and Amazon around 22 LPA. But a lot of students applied off campus and the highest placement off campus was 72 LPA in Google. The placement percentage is nearly 100% which is mainly due to the fact of service-based companies. I too am interested in IT jobs so am preparing for the same.

Seeing stcet again through my eyes

Placement Experience:

Students from the 4th-year 7th semester onwards become eligible for all sorts of campus recruitments. Cognizant technology solutions are the principal recruiter. Other companies which used to come during this time include Infosys, Odesha technologies, itc infotech, and others. All these companies generally take many students from our campus. During our time around 88% of students got selected from our batch. Out of which many students got double job offers from cognizant and Infosys. Some got job offers in sonodyne, Vodafone, and other companies. The highest package was offered by cognizant which was about 6 lakhs per annum. An average package of 3.5 lakhs per annum was offered by Infosys followed by itc infotech which offered roughly 4 lakhs per annum. After getting the degree I will pursue Ms maybe or maybe I can opt for MBA too. Also, I can sit for ies exam. Let's see what happens.
