Remarks :
Eligibility:- You should have completed your 12th in Science. After 12th class results you have to fill the form on the college website " www.sscnagpur.ac.in " as well as you have to fill in the CAP round for admissions for the first year of the Bachelors Of Science (B.Sc). Form Filling:- As soon as the results of the 12th board are out, in 1-2 weeks the forms are out you can find instructions on the college website "www.sscnagpur.ac.in", in case of any doubt you can go to college office to ask. Important tip:- You have to fill separate forms for each college you wish to apply for, otherwise college does not entertain. Reservation Benefits:- You will have relaxation in percentage, you will have to pay fewer fees, as well as you are eligible for a Scholarship. Improvement that can be done:- Admission process is quite slow, it can be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course so as to get a degree in Computer science so that I can work in the IT sector. Another reason why I chose this college was because of its placement opportunities. Faculty members are well educated and good, but some teachers who are not permanent do not have that much experience and it reflects in their teaching. The student ratio considering girls and boys is quite okay. Many of the Professors are Ph.D. holders and masters in their respective fields. Teaching methods are quite good but they need to use more technically advanced tools so as to enhance the teaching-learning experience. Rest it is up to students, some find interesting and some find boring. Exams are not very occasional, You just have the pressure of university exams, the rest of the year you can chill and learn new skills as well as you can participate in extracurricular activities.
Placement Experience :
Students in the final year or semester are eligible for campus drive placements offered by college. Various companies like HCL, TCS, Wipro, Deloitte, Infosys visit colleges for hiring students. And a good number of students are able to get the job. The highest package goes around 4.5 Lacks P.A. and the average package is around 3.5 Lacks P.A. Out of 10 students who sit for the placement drive, 5-6 students get placed. You can opt for Higher education like M.Sc or M.C.A. or M.B.A after getting the degree or you can try in other fields as well.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Cost of study is very less as compared to engineering and other courses. fees for different categories are as follows:- 1) General :- Approx 4,500 rs/ year. 2) OBC:- Approx 2,500 rs/ year. 3) SC,ST :- Approx 1,500 rs/ year. There are various govt. scholarships are available for students, once you enter the college, you will get assistance from the office staff.
Campus Life :
There is one annual gathering which happens in the month of Dec/Jan depending upon the Exam schedule, as well as the Freshers and Farewell party is conducted. The library is one of the best places in the college where you will find a number of books on various topics, you can spend as many hours as you want in the library. Also, you can issue the books for you and use them. Also, daily 6-7 newspapers are available in the library you can make use of them. Classrooms are partially digital and you have access to a computer lab with wifi for study purposes. Life at the campus is considerably good, you have ground to play various sports like Football, Kabaddi, Basketball, etc., and you can represent the college at the university level. There are various groups and associations run by students and alumni for the welfare of students as well as there is an NSS group and NCC is available for Girls only.
