Remarks

The admission process was directly on the basis of cutoffs made using the 12th class total percentage. Applications were available on the website of Delhi University, whose fee was 100 rupees and the application form was out in April and then again in Sept. Though I didn't get any benefit in the reservation, our college does provide a large number of reserved seats for Sikh Minorities.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The reason for choosing this course was: 1. I applied for B.Sc. Physics Hons. and I didn't get it but the faculty here for physics is excellent around any college of DU. 2. In my course I am open to pursuing a master's in any subject, i.e. either physics or maths or even Computer Science whereas Hons doesn't provide that. 3. The syllabus is almost the same and if the student is capable he/she may easily overcome the difference. Student to faculty ratio is quite good. Even teachers are able to look towards the growth of each individual student. The faculty for physics is amazing and some of the professors have quite good relations with foreign labs as well.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I am currently in 2nd year and I have got 3-4 internship opportunities. On average, every student of SGTB gets at least 1-2 internships minimum in their 3 years of the degree. The name and reputation play a huge role in providing such opportunities. Even in our college, we have a number of societies/clubs which make us ready for such future opportunities, and the best thing is anyone can join those.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are offered but mostly all of the students prefer a Masters's degree first. Many of my seniors are in Foreign Universities like Germany, America, Canada, etc. The reference letters of prof play an important role in this situation, as our college prof has a piece of good knowledge in their field and are famous outside India also so their LORs are quite impressive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are not that much as it's a government college. The annual fee for my course is 27000-26000. Scholarship and Financial Assistance are provided by the college more often than usual. As the Bachelors mostly done in this college are non-Technical not much of jobs are offered but most of the Civil Services opens for you after getting a degree from this college.

Campus Life

5

Since I am from batch 2020, I have not experienced anything as the university of Delhi has not opened it yet for the last 2.5 years. Though I have heard the campus is very good including a very huge library and A.C. in every classroom. College also has a good place in sports and the Labs of college are too good. Overall our college doesn't miss anything.

Placement Experience:

Gargi, like most other delhi colleges, has a standard placement cell. Students become eligible for placements from the 5th semester onwards, but most requirements happen during the final year. The companies that visit are primarily ed tech based ventures or marketing, HR firms and sales firms. A few that have collaborated over the year has been EY, Decathlon, Urban Company, Deloitte and so on. in terms of packages, the highest that had been around 15-17lpa, and the average package is 4-5lpa. About 20-30% of the batch gets placed during placement interviews while many try to pursue other opportunities or off-campus venues.

as the everyone know for computer science b tech is the best course but there is to much rush for b tech and i dont want to waste my college life or campus life on engenerring degree which dont give me placements thats why i choose for bsc hons cs in du to enjoy the campus life. if you study well in this course it will definately help vo in job interview making your resume good and skills better. the teaching method should be more practical than doing on notebooks or oraly. the datesheet and timings of exams are preety good and the difficulty of exam are moderate the ones who prepares will definately score good marks and can maintain better cgpa.

Placement Experience:

One can easily view the placement statistics of our college on their website. The placement cell of the college manages the placement process. On first glance, it appears impressive. But most of the placements are in similar fields of commerce like consulting or finance, followed by Arts and Science courses getting the least amount of placements. I personally have no faith in my course getting me any placement. So I'm preparing for government exams anyways.
